That’s not true, lol
You *can* get a visa if you *can* get a job in their sh**e economy
Then you have to renew it most constantly

Just to clarify, the "High Potential Individual" program allows you to get a UK visa *without* a job offer. You can move to the UK and then look for work once you are there. And Michigan is indeed one of the institutions on the list.

They usually do, until the Ohio State game.

Do you know if you can do this and start a business or bring a business over? I’m not planning to do that yet curious anyway.

Funny that UCLA is on the list—and UNC is not.

Michigan has pummeled OSU the last two time they played. Ohio State hasn’t beaten Michigan in football since 2019. It’s now 2023. Try to keep up!

Yes. U of M lives up to the hype. Yes. It. Does.

It has exceeded expectations for our DC in grad school.

It all depends on what each student values most and is looking for. However, for our DC it has been a Godsend. Terrific academics and high level collaboration, wonderful supervisor, nice city with nice eateries, quirky game stores and small independent book stores, lots of sports and exercise facilities, and very good health care for a small city. But it is not perfect - no where is. So it will depend on what matters most for your DC .

No university lives up to the hype. That's what makes all of this so perplexing.

Everything is relative - and each individual has different needs …

We have an undergrad there. I would say, yes it lives up to the hype. The academic opportunities have been almost uniformly wonderful, they have been granted many unique travel and internships through their school and already has post graduation employment lined up.

Zero complaints.

I dropped out as a freshman because I couldn't deal with the pressure of going away to school. Later earned a graduate degree there and will say, it is a fantastic place for the right person. Only negative to me is that it has grown to 50,000 students.

Ann Arbor is a really fun place to go to college. The whole town is geared around U of M.

Plus lots of culture, green space, good restaurants, etc

Uh no . There is no hype apart from what Michigan’s PR department puts out

It is expensive OOS. Can it really be all that different academically from other state schools? Is it hyped because of the sports?

When I ask her why she is so certain she shrugs her shoulders and says, “I don’t know. I just am.”

We don’t have any family members that go there, so not sure where she is getting it from. She said she mentioned it to the guidance counselor, not the other way around.

It is a good school, but except for a few programs, it's not worth paying OOS tuition compared to private schools and in-state options most kids have.
