Students from last week were taken off waitlist due to FARMS adjustments.

I don’t the FARMs kids have been kicked out yet. There would be a lot more movement.

Students from Carson and Frost were kicked out. It was only a few. The numbers match up.

Source? Longfellow and Cooper do not appear to have any kids removed as of yet.

There has been no (ZERO) press coverage of this. If this was actually true, it would be turning up someplace other than DCUM.

I'm willing to be proven wrong. But until so or a statement by FCPS, we should all just assume that the admissions were done properly and that no kids have been removed from the class of 2026. Anyone admitted off of a waitlist was due to another admitted student turning down the spot.

Unfortunately, communications from TJ/FCPS have been nonexistent. Just one more flaw in this terrible process. Hopefully there will be some sort of follow-up press release/Post article to explain how they handled the free meals questions, but I'm not holding my breath.

I spoke with the director of admissions today. I'm told that they have verified FARMS documentation and rescinded some admissions accordingly. (Based on what others have been reporting here, it seems that the number of rescinded offers was relatively small but not non-zero, i.e. there were indeed people who checked yes to the free meals questions, were admitted, did not have verification of eligibility for free meals, lost the experience factor points, and were unadmitted.) They have not yet filled the spots of admitted students who declined their offers of admission, but expect to do so this week, perhaps in the next couple of days. They anticipate 1-2 more rounds of admissions from the waitpool after this week.

I don't have any proof of this, of course, so the "Source?" posters may feel free to disbelieve me.

Thank you PP. I have been trying to explain this. Good luck to all parents with waitlist kids!

tlist today?

Yes my friends daughter moved from waitlisted to accepted.
I didn't get any email for my son who is waitlisted

BS, not one person in Rocky, Carson, or Longfellow (the feeder schools) got off waitlist yet. My son is friends with all the top kids in those schools, and nobody has gotten in yet according to all of my friends. My son goes to Rocky BTW. Furthermore, applicants from last week were supposed to accept their offers by the 24th. Why would they offer admission right after they receive application responses? They need time to process things.

What a blatant lie. I know for a fact there have been admission offers given to waitlist students at Cooper and Carson on the 17th.

They should be ashamed of wasting our money on such an inefficient, slow process. Can only imagine how much this is costing taxpayers as they drag this out. And when TJ doesn’t know yet for sure where its students are coming from, neither does any other FCPS high school, which leads to scheduling bottlenecks.

The morons on the School Board who foisted this crap on school administrators should be recalled.

PP just said that it is because of FARMs admissions changes. Learn to read.

Waitlisted students will be notified this week. Maybe on Friday. Nothing has come out yet since the original notifications in May. And no waitlisted kids have been informed yet.

Disagree! It was a sting operation to weed out the worst element from TJ.

This fakenews person is really annoying. Get over it! Your kid didn't get in. Period! Just because some ppl are getting off waitlist and yours isn't, doesn't mean its fake news.
