| At least the accommodations at an all inclusive are comped. |
Too soon. |
They are not the prosecutor. I’m sure her parents would rather believe he tried to save her than any more unsavory options. His story may be true, we may never know. The prosecutor must have reasons. Keeping him does not boost tourism. |
It would be even more of a financial strain if not the case. Was discussed at hearing today. |
One got passport, one did not. The spider senses of some senior investigators are up, we don’t know why. They will likely return it or arrest him on or before 3/28. Does travel insurance cover legal fees? |
The parents said there was no evidence of anything other than an accidental drowning. DR law requires that he be charged or released. He’s not even a suspect. It’s illegal detention. US Consulate should be reigning hellfire. US looks so weak here. |
Prosecutors lied and said the didn’t confiscate his passport but he lost it. |
|
I think they bought time to see if evidence is found, perhaps her body. Would have been easiest for prosecutor to turn the page today, instead they pushed back hard. Lots of Latin drama and shouting in the courtroom. The DR AG is personally involved, if she wanted his passport returned today probably would have happened.
More to play out. |
It will be almost 3 weeks that he's been held as a "witness" by the time the next hearing rolls around. I guess it gives them time to manufacture some story against him. |
|
I think they are ascribing a different meaning to lost, literal PP. They said they took it over a week ago.
Anyone up in arms, contact AG of DR. |
I read the judge ruled he's "free to leave" |
| I still think 3rd parties could have been involved after he passed out. Not sure DR really wants to open that possibility, delve into staff spiking drinks or address the other safety issues raised on Yrip Advisor for years. This resort has security issues but is not alone in that. |

And looks like he doesn’t need to appear in person 3/28. |
