Bingo!

Jackie did not mince words either.

the First Lady told dinner guests that the queen was “a middle-aged woman so incurious, unintelligent and unremarkable that Britain’s new reduced place in the world was not a surprise but an inevitability

And yet...the Queen is beloved and still ruling the roost while the curious, intelligent and remarkable Jackie is pushing up daisies while the distant fragments of her family are fading into obscurity.

And yet Jackie was right. Britain has lost its supremacy as a world-power, left the European Union, can't feed its own children, has the worst Covid death rate in the world, and is in an economic spiral. Its even a question whether or not there will be a United Kingdom to roost over after summer 2021 when the Scottish referendum happens.

The fact that the British are keeping on a royal family they 'pay' $100 million a year to for no reason and allow to live in palaces while their country descends in squalor is certainly a choice.

Really interesting to see the statements side by side

The palace sounds gracious and sad. the markles sound petulant and weirdly passive aggressive. no mention of course of caring for Harry's family at all.

VERY passive aggressive. Just now jumping on the bandwagon here and reading Meghan's statement (I'm saying Meghan bc it has her name written all over it) and she is still so SALTY.

I don't care about the royal family, or any family, nor do I know much about them. But I do respect tradition and feel that Meghan should just shuuut uuuuuupppppp already.

I don't. I was reading an article and found this line amusing:

Over the past year, Harry has had more private conversations with the Queen than at any other time in his life. But none was more difficult than the one this week.

So you're telling me - its only as the Prince is walking away that he finally got some private alone time with his own grandmother? Maybe Harry+Meghan sound 'petulant' for a reason. That isn't a family and the royals have revealed that to the world.

Harry and Meghan WANTED TO LEAVE. Let them make a clean start in Santa Barbara - with their titles of course!

Did the Kennedy’s have issues with the BRF?

Maybe it’s the Catholic thing?

Maria Shriver is a famous bestie of Oprah. This is all PR firms coordinating to the big build up to the Oprah interview.

Yeah, the Queen is losing sleep over what Maria Shriver thinks of her.

Meghan is so smart surrounding herself with Oprah and Maria Shriver!

It’s interesting to note that those two are famously rich and pretend to do great charitable things, but in reality they’re self-absorbed jerks.

I'm a NP:

Oprah is blatantly all about show business and makes a ton of money. She has no heirs and has not signed the giving pledge. A lot of people find her fake and insincere. She has profited off of housewives.

To be clear, you think Oprah is fake and insincere because she has not told you or anyone else what she will do with her money. Specifically because she has not promised to give the bulk of her money to charity, you find her insincere and fake. The entitlement people feel towards other people money is astounding. Why don't you give all your money to charity and worry about yourself. SMH.

DP. You know, I feel pretty judgmental generally of people who have crap tons of money and who don’t want to use crap tons of that money to give back. But Oprah Winfrey was born to a dirt poor single mom and was abused and shuffled around her entire childhood. She got pregnant and had a stillbirth at 14. She faced racial and economic prejudice most of her life and most people in that situation do not emerge to be Oprah. Or fake. She can do whatever the eff she wants for the rest of her life and I’m not going to judge

PP, that original PP is just a racist misogynist, like many MM haters. Of course there are many white men who have done exactly the same as Oprah, but that PP probably worships the ground they walk on.

Oh the Royals are already backpedaling and apologizing. Not to Harry of course - to the powerful Americans they insulted.

Haha, the BRF is such a ridiculous institution.

Overall I support H&M and think the BRF is emblematic of everything that is wrong with the world. But I think the clap back was over the line. Putting aside The Firm, that's his grandma. He could have made the point in other ways.

The Windsor dynasty is flourishing and multiplying. The Kennedies are...gone with the wind.

The fact that Jackie thought that Britain's supremacy depends on the Queen's curiosity betrays her lack of education in anything but picking napkins and mooching leopard-skin coats and diamond-encrusted swords off Arab dictators.

How? I remember in January 2020 when he made the public announcement they were stepping back -- it came out that he had been trying to get a meeting with his grandma in-person since November 2020.

So if her courtiers wouldn't let him speak to her then and obviously things have broken down further since, what would have been the preferred method to make the point?

Flourishing and multiplying? Do you know how many kids the Kennedys have? JFK had 8 siblings. Don't make me laugh.

Wow. Jackie’s cancer was a character flaw, huh? Wow.

Neither was the Queen's age.

I can't think of anything more unremarkable than turning a blind eye to your husband's many infidelities for the perks of money and power. I mean really, Jackie to lecture on being remarkable?

They compensate with an unusually high mortality rate, you know. Must be something in the gene pool.
