This is what I wondered as well! Both agreed that the Queen, who is supposed to be the head of the monarchy, is "amazing." Meghan almost made it sound like unidentified members of "the firm" or "the institution," separate from the family members, are the puppetmasters making the decisions behind the scenes, like the family members are just the figureheads. So, who are the members of "the firm" or "the institution"? Are they separate from the family members, and if so, how did they get that position, and why do the members of The Royal Family take direction from them?

Yes, this has been posted repeatedly.

So what, exactly?

DCUM posters are older and white.

And out of touch.

Really? Everything I've been reading online is absolutely skewering them.

Really? I haven’t seen anything negative unless you are talking about random comments??

DP. I'm seeing a lot of both, tbh. They are not universally sympathetic or universally condemned. Some on social media love them and others don't. I wouldn't say that DCUM is out of touch or unrepresesntative. A bit less sympathetic to them then but no, elsewhere on the internet, it's not just positive reactions.

Only negative I’ve seen is some Piers Morgan tweets.

Look a little harder, dear. Spend two seconds, not one.

I mean the point is to evaluate how social media writ large is reacting. Having to look one extra second to find negative reactions is kind of the point.

If you say so. I think the point of looking at social media is to look at more than the first tweet on the list. Take a survey of what several different people are saying, and the comments are as valuable as the tweeter, since it's all social media.

Are you only looking on Twitter? Try some other social media outlets dear.

Brilliant. King’s landing is definitely on fire after tonight.

I think it was William. Harry made clear it was in a conversation about what hypothetical children would look like. This tracks with previous reports that Harry was engaged by some conversation he had with William about reservations that William had about Meghan. And, inexplicably, Oprah mentioned William as she transitioned to asking Harry about the skin tone conversation.

In normal families, that's a normal question.

Neither Harry nor Meghan seemed willing to accept it as a normal question.

+100000 The race hustling crazies are grasping at straws here hoping to con gullible white people. That is a 100% normal question to ponder.

White chick here. Not normal. Really ill intended. Have you ever had this discussion with a friend in a biracial relationship that was expecting? Would you ask it over lunch with work colleagues if it's so "normal"? GTFOH.

If you can’t see the difference between friends and coworkers vs your own family then there is no help for you.

If we all step back here, I think we should be able to agree that these conversations can be normal and fun in a loving, accepting family and toxic in a racist family.

He's speaking because #AbolishTheMonarchy is trending for the ENTIRE United Kingdom on Twitter. I don't think the Royals realize just how bad this looks. And the interview doesn't air in Britain for another 6 hours.

Actually you’ve got it backwards. The mindless cretins on social media will lap up this nonsense because they aren’t particularly bright. Anyone with an ounce of critical thinking skills can see that these two insanely privileged narcissists are attempting to cast themselves as victims so their grift can roll along. I’m sure it will work because most people are imbeciles and will buy what they’re selling but it really is a vulgar performance.

I mentioned this in another thread, but it's the same with the Japanese Royal Family. That royal family also has puppetmasters (for lack of a better term) that absolutely made dreadful the life of the Crown Princess. Forget her name - she was the one with the mental illness caused from those people.

I agree. I’m less of a Meghan fan over the past year, but I’ll give you that.
With loving people, you can talk about it.
With distant colder relationships, no as cool.

I like to think whatever happened it’s possible it wasn’t meant harshly, but from Meghan’s side she wasn’t feeling the love and it didn’t come out OK

Anonymous wrote:I'm kind of over Meghan's fake naivete - how in the world could she not have known that she was marrying into a racist, stodgy, stuck in the 16th century family?

Now, she finds a platform with Oprah to loudly express her outrage over the BRF....and is met with a resounding, DUH!!!!

You married into it, if you didn't know what you were getting into, that's on you. There is no "fixing" a monarchy that has existed comfortably without change for 500+ years.

Take it or leave it. Don't take it and then complain about it.

You could apply this logic to anything.

"You knew that airplanes sometimes crash, so why are you complaining your spouse died in a plane crash?"

"People get cancer. They get cancer and die. Everyone dies. Did you think that didn't apply to your child?"

"Duh, people get shot at in war. Those injured vets don't have my sympathy, they knew what the risk was when they signed up."

Absolutely, not the same. Do not agree. What Meghan did here is more in line with that girl you knew in college who was "not into rushing" and "doesn't understand why people join sororities" but rushed anyway, and then complained about the experience loudly for everyone to hear for two years and then deactivated. WHY did you RUSH in the first place? Oh, I see, so you could loudly complain and get the attention that way....

Perhaps his wife should turn away from her mirror and see that her husband is on the ledge with his toes hanging over.

What I see is a man, who has been sheltered in a bubble his entire life, experiencing the world for the first time. There's no question he adores his wife and children, but he must feel disoriented. He will be fine because ge is still young and has many decades ahead.

He will be fine because Meghan is his adulting doula. She’ll show him how to thrive in Hollywood.

I think Harry intentionally burned bridges so he won’t be tempted to go back.

Spite is a great motivator, and Meghan can network. They are now on a mission to outshine and outdo. It should be rather easy...especially once unlikeable Charles takes the throne. The media will bash Charles and Camilla.

If William doesn’t step it up and become interesting, the monarchy could be in real trouble.

How could they have released this interview while his grandfather if gravely ill. What purpose does this serve with a funeral looming.

They don’t do surgery on people who are gravely ill. I give Phillip at least another year.

I get the sense that Harry doesn’t realize just how much damage this interview will do to his relations with his family.
