New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

Anonymous
So GA and ECNL swapped Los Gatos, a club with no team higher then 5th in conference for Kings Hammer which has 1 good team....At this point it just seems both sides are picking off each other's trash. GA still got better clubs then it gave up this year so far.

The GA is just the reboot of the bankrupt DA league and is probably on the path of bankruptcy itself. get your head out of the ground and stop believing the crap your club is telling you.

My kid plays on a GA team (west coast)

They practice 10 minutes from our house and go to Champion Cup and Finals every year. The ECNL clubs that do the same practice 30 min to 1.5 hours hours away. We do friendlies with ECNL clubs and beat then regularly. It's kind of fun watching the stunned parents walk out of losses in silence. Unable to comprehend what just happened.

Get over yourself. It's just a league. Development occurs at the club and with your coach + team.

City SC? Or SC del Sol?

Kings Hammer is a lower 1/3 ECNL club, so the lower 1/3 of ECNL is now less populated, they will slot in as a middle of the pack GA club. The club seems to constantly be in flux, a new DOC every year.

It does present an interesting situation for those who know that area. The GA now has 3 teams in Cincinnati (2 at CUP, one at Kings Hammer), and one ECNL (Ohio Elite). Both leagues you would imagine would want to add 1 each to get to even numbers.

Classic ENCL parent ... now Kings Hammer is not any good ... 24 hours ago they were good because they were in ECNL.

I don’t think anyone has ever thought King Hammer was good. Sorry about your ECNL issues.

Nobody has ever thought Kings Hammer was any good? Come on. What do you define as a solid club then? They have 2 National Titles, 2 National Runner-ups, 4 Region Titles, 42 Ohio State titles and 29 Kentucky State titles. How many clubs in the country have that type of success - i don't care what league it is in - in such a short time? And they have some alumni in the pros. They have 30 college commits on the girls side for 25 and 26 listed. I give up with parents - what makes a good club then. Top 75 club in the country per the rankings doesn't count? Nobody said they were the top club in the country, but to act like they are not any good is a joke

No one has ever claimed Kings Hammer is good. They are an afterthought to Ohio Elite & CUP in the Cincinnati Market. Now more than ever.

As someone that went through The 2017 girls ECNL to girls DA saga with my oldest the girls ECNL to GA drama is starting to feel exactly the same. The big difference with GA is the change is slow motion compared to before. I'm positive it's because there's no "free soccer" incentive with GA.

If a group of top ECNL clubs switch to GA as a group ECNL is over. That was the "last straw" so to speak when clubs started going to DA in mass.

is there a running list somewhere?

What was the free soccer incentive offered by DA?

Hard to compare that, as after year 1 & year 2 of the GDA clubs flocked back to ECNL.

You are correct, if a big chunk of the top ECNL clubs were to go to the GA there would be a shift, but I personally do not see it happening. There will be a constant trading of lower clubs for years I think.

ECNL could still end this whole thing if they just add Tophat, Lou Fusz, City & maybe cup/nefc.

Yes, free soccer was the bait on every hook. It's also what blew DA up. There wasn't enough $$$ to fund all the free soccer so DA pulled the plug.

Kings hammer ECNL girl dads crying about this are delusional. You should be happy the girls will finally be able to compete for something. You aren’t touching anything of substance in either league lol

If BSC announced, people would still be saying that GA is picking up scraps.

The reason all the girls clubs went back to ECNL after DA is because they knew ECNL worked + generated revenue. GA at the time was new and unknown.

The reason the boys clubs went to MLSN after DA blew up (not ECNL) is because MLS got involved an tagged a few youth clubs as academies with free soccer. But all other MLSN clubs functioned just like ECNL ie pay to play.

This is why MLSN worked after DA blew up but GA didn't (initially)

GA saw what was going on and just copied everything girls ECNL was doing as a business. Now, from a league and events perspective (not the clubs involved) it's 1to1 with ECNL. Add in that MLSN is now partnered with GA or put more bluntly if you're a MLSN club you'll soon be forced to play your girls in GA. You can see where all this is going.
