Lively/Baldoni Lawsuit Part 2

I don't remember the exact wording but it seems like they had already planned a work break by that point.

Sure, dear.

Right. After the biggest movie of her lifetime she didn’t want to work? Why would her manager say on the deposition they were expecting offers to roll in? And why would she launch a production company? It seemed like the whole point of doing everything for this movie is that she could launch her directing and producing career. She wanted to direct and produce and star in the sequel- that was the next step. Confirmed in the documents as well, including by Colleen Hoover herself.

Ryan seems like a workaholic. He had 3 movies get cancelled by paramount and they opted not to renew their contract with him to develop films which expired end of 2026. It doesn’t sound like he wanted to slow down. It sounds like he is being forced to.

I am just saying that something to that effect was already written by them long before the lawsuit. She had just had a baby and then made a movie, I can see her taking some time off. I think most actors do big features then take a break for awhile. Acting isn't really a day in day out, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year type job.

The filming wrapped in January 2024. It’s been two years.

And while I know Blake is painting the picture that she did everything in this movie, I’ll remind you that she was on set for 16 days. It really doesn’t seem that taxing and something she’d need a 2 year break from.

Yes, true! It has been two years. I don't have any opinion on it beyond that they had written about their intentions to take a break at whatever point those emails to Ben / Matt were written.

This just makes Lively and Reynolds look sketchy and desperate. Swift’s team can catch & kill all of that and then Reynolds and Lively will never work again and be blacklisted socially. So… good luck with that.

A week ago I would have scoffed at this but I’m surprised about what Taylor had in writing. Celebs should be more careful. They should talk on the phone more when scheming.

I doubt many people are going to care. If Ryan is a washed up actor, Blake is a nobody, and Baldoni was an unknown to begin with - who is caring about them at all? Other than a few peple prattling away on the website. If they are all as insignificant in the industry as you guys are saying they are....no one is paying them any attention at all.

Disagree. This is just saying that Taylor texted a bunch of stuff she shouldn’t have brand-wise and so is limited in how much she can separate from Blake. If she goes scorched earth, there’s a risk. Doesn’t mean Blake has threatened anything or done anything.

Maybe Ryan did. From everything we’ve seen, he seems like the type. Could be why Travis unfollowed him.

Regarding Swift - the bad press is overblown. She believed her friend. She believed Baldoni was harassing Blake, and we know from her own history that she has zero tolerance for that. I do not think she was just on an evil mission to destroy a director to enable Blake to take over the film.

I’m not sure why she hasn’t released a statement about that. I’m sure I would’ve sent scathing texts if I believed my BF was being harassed and undermined.

Taylor is an icon and will be fine. But this has definitely hurt her image. Yes you can argue that she just believed her friend, but she looks bad in this as many people do. She put out a statement which is really rare for her saying that she wasn’t involved on the film, had barely seen the movie blah blah blah, and her texts showed that she was kind of scheming along with and said some pretty petty things. is it career ending, no, but it’s not what she wants from her brand.

Taylor’s bigger issue is people criticizing her about not speaking out against what’s happening in the country. I rolled my eyes at them because she has endorsed candidates before and she has stood up for cause she believes in but after this weekend in Minneapolis, random influencers and celebrities are speaking out and saying some kind of statement so it is kind of surprising at this point that she hasn’t done anything.

Taylor is all about Taylor. There will be no Speak Now because she only did that when it got her money.

She filmed Another Simple Favor in the spring/summer of 2024, and it came out in spring 2025 when she did a promotional tour. So she's actually only been "out of work" less than a year.

Are you seriously trying to argue that she’s just taking time off. Her own manager said that there was no one calling to offer her roles. The Sony heads said that she was done because of her “epic level stupid” decision to promote her hair company and her inability to apologize for that bad interview that surfaced. These were the two biggest execs at Sony, I believe one was the CEO and one was the president. With one saying she was done forever, and the other saying she would probably be OK after a few years.

But yeah, I’m sure she’s just taking time off lol.

Also, I just reread the text from Ryan to Matt and he was clearly joking about taking time off. He said something like we might have to take the next two years off or maybe even forever because this was so bad. It was just hyperbole.

Matt Damon himself said oh you can just come and make movies with our company… And yet is there anything coming out that Matt‘s company is offering Blake roles? No. No one wants to work with Blake. Even her former best friend Taylor won’t be seen with her.

One of the most fascinating things that I don’t think we’ve talked about enough is this nugget that has come out that Stephanie Jones first went to Leslie Stone, Blake’s long time publicist, with all the Nathan and Abel text about the retaliation or smear campaign.

Leslie Sloan wasn’t interested. It was only then that Jones went to Ashley Avignone, Taylor’s longtime friend of 20 years, and Ashley gave them to Taylor and sounds like Taylor was part of convincing Blake to go nuclear after that.

It is just really interesting to me that Leslie has worked with Blake her whole professional life, and Leslie being probably a decent PR person probably was thinking, you know this is all going to blow over. The movie did huge numbers. This is going to be an opportunity for Blake. People will forget and move on from the botched marketing and the bad interviews. It doesn’t sound like Leslie wanted Blake to know about this or for this to go nuclear.

Just fascinating again that Taylor says she wasn’t involved when I think a huge part of why we are here is because of Taylor and Ashley. And that it’s possible if professional PR advice was taken Ryan and would not be here right now.

Perhaps because she no longer believes Blake was harassed, and doesn't to associate herself with Blake's claims.

I don't get it. Ofc Taylor feels bad that her private texts were made public but she doesn't do anything illegal (unless perjury?). She she comes off as nasty and petty but who isn't sometimes in private conversations with bestie? Why are the texts so supposedly career ending for Tay?
