2024 Democratic National Convention

Bashear can campaign for Harris in NC and GA
Shapiro and Whitmer can barnstorm their states.
Kelly and Giffords can help Harris and Gallego in Arizona.

Pete can start to go to places like Ohio, Florida and Texas.

The surrogate game is strong here.

Yes.

Harris has more viable paths to victory than Trump. He has to win out in the Rust belt AND the Sunbelt whereas Harris can win taking one or the other. She won't win Georgia but she might win NC and she could come closer in GA than anyone would have expected which will help down ballot and for future races.

I can't wait to see the next round of polls. She's still riding her initial bounce from getting the nomination and she's going to get another from the convention for sure. Then a debate bounce when she destroys Trump in person on national TV.

I don't think she has this sewn up (the map is so much easier for Trump) but she stands a real chance now.

Harris will win Georgia. Count on it. The Warnock and Ossoff voters will come out for her and lift her to victory.

Trump seems to think Harris might win Georgia

For a lot us high school football was fun, I still remember all our coaches, and they we all called them coach. Just because they were amazing people doesn't mean we should vote for them for President. I am worried that some guys I know will vote for him just because he was a coach.

You do know that after he was a coach he became a member of congress and governor, right?
Although frankly… the world would probably be a lot better if we did elect some public school football coach/social studies teachers.

Yes, encouraging that there seems to be a deep bench of talent right now and a commitment to unity!

+1

They bring more to the table than businessmen.

It extends a theme we’ve heard throughout the Democratic convention: that Trump is a narcissist who’s not really interested in governing, leading or helping people. It is an ironic turn that among the most effective versions of that message came from Bill Clinton, when he urged voters listening to Trump: “Don’t count the lies, count the I’s.”

This whole convention has been airtight. Messages have been on point, most of the speeches have been pretty inspiring, several have had memorable moments or lines or hand gestures, and the energy has been palpable.

The only misstep is that weird special guest thing! (Special guest Leon Panetta!) And even that seems to have blown over. (They probably should have included a Palestinian speaker, too, but for me that's not a big issue.)

It was just a joyful, tight, pretty much perfectly executed convention. And I usually hate this stuff. I wept during the Chicks' performance - I guess the words about the flag still being there hit me harder than ever before. I wept when Gus said that's my dad. The speakers were good - and good gravy do we have a deep bench of talented people ready to do what needs doing. Harris's speech was flawless.

No worries. We'll be electing her in November. Joyfully.

That's just part of his life experience. Politically, he was re-elected to Congress 4-5 times so served many terms, and now he's on his 2nd term (having recently been re-elected) as Governor of Minnesota.

Walz has so much more government experience than his opponent Vance, and he has executive experience as Gov of MN that Vance has never had.

Tuberville dispells that thought.

That's fine. They can vote for him because he was a congressman who got things done and then a governor who got things done. While never forgetting his humble midwestern roots. Win-win.

That wasn't on the DNC, but rather social media rumor. The DNC released its schedule and updated it through the day and stuck to that schedule.

The "gap" that was reported was likely flex to make up for speech overages, given how late the previous three nights went. It was important for Harris to start around 10:30 eastern time, and she did.

Cannot and will not vote for either Harris or Trump.

Sorry. Oh well.
