Hunh? Are you the person the question is directed to, that said he was "middle class for a single parent"? If so these are your words. The phrase makes no sense. In any case his father died before he was even born so I am not sure how your fun "fact" is relevant. at one pt he did have an alcoholic step father who beat his mom until bill got rid of him. Why so resistent to the fact he was the poorest President? There are plently other phony origin stories to upend - Wes Moore (the worst), Ben Carson, Vance(?) |
Hellooo.
It’s not relevant at all. I’m a single issue writer. I don’t like people who make themselves heroic. I think we should retire the term “single parent.” It’s bogus a lot of the time, unless he parent is dead or completed abandoned completely a child. These are rare circumstances. “Single parent” is not a rare identification. |
Narrating her career as a lawyer, Harris told the Democratic convention in Chicago that she has “only had one client: the people.” In Trump’s career in business and politics, she went on, he has represented “the only client he has ever had: himself.”
It extends a theme we’ve heard throughout the Democratic convention: that Trump is a narcissist who’s not really interested in governing, leading or helping people. It is an ironic turn that among the most effective versions of that message came from Bill Clinton, when he urged voters listening to Trump: “Don’t count the lies, count the I’s.” |
Shitty parent household that is more common. I hear zero people using that label. |
+1. GOP is now claiming Vance was raised by a single mom. Vance literally had his adopted step-father’s surname from age 3 to 30. |
This whole convention has been airtight. Messages have been on point, most of the speeches have been pretty inspiring, several have had memorable moments or lines or hand gestures, and the energy has been palpable. |
Ok. I have a prep/ logistics question about the convention (this might have been asked/ answered already in thread so apologies if it’s a repeat). That was amazing in terms of vibe/ organization/ creativity/ energy.
Does anyone know how much of this was already in the works before the candidate change? For example, did they already plan that energetic roll call? The prep required to get all the music, mics, order, slides, etc was a LOT. Kudos to whoever pulled that off. |
+1 Certainly is the rational choice. |

The area was booked, the rough contours of the events of the day were outlines. Certainly the know speakers had ideas of what they wanted to say. I cannot speak to the Roll Call, or other musical acts. Either way, when one thinks of an Executive leadership, the success or failure of a Convention like this falls to the candidate. She picked the right people who executed flawlessly. Just like everything that has happened since Biden pulled out was flawless. That is leadership and competence. |
Finally, she got her primetime slot to go after that orange head. That's all she needed to do up there. She'll do the campaigning for Harris in MI and other GOP areas such as NH. |
I’m sure most of the roll call planning was already in the works. The speakers just had to adjust their remarks for Kamala. The roll call was amazing. Such great energy and hope for our country. |
