Agreed. Landon did not look very good and still won easily. Lots of dropped passes, poor defense, etc. and still coasted to victory.

He'd have them all playing lights out and going D1 in no time, like he does with all of his club kids.

That's why he coaches most of his players from other clubs. He does not develop players...just recruits them

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Many of NL’s youngest teams are ranked top 20 nationally. Their 2030 team is ranked #1 in the country. He’s not out there recruiting 5th graders to make up these teams.

Look at his older teams. When they get to high school...he replaces a majority of the team with players from other teams. Or he takes on other teams. Look at the 2024, 2026 teams. How many of the players grew with the program? Hardly any

DM lost 13-7 to St Ignatius. Once again out coached and the offense is horrible. If not for Matt Beachley there would be no offensive life. Close defense played well but DM spends so much time playing defense. The SSDM for DM are bad and every team that plays DM should exploit the SSDM with ease. This is possible the worst DeMatha lacrosse team I have ever seen. This is what no recruiting will do for a program. No real 26 or 27 recruits.

A friend of mine who saw the heights v DM game told me that DM just seems like a complete disaster of a program. Coaches fighting, no adjustments made, lack of recruitment, etc.

The former coach is laughing on his way to the bank to cash those club dues checks. I feel for the new coaching staff since they were left with such a rough hand

They have to bring Dave Mitchell back if they want to win now.

Dave Mitchell’s did nothing to elevate the DeMatha program.

The stags program was no better from when he inherited it to when he departed ways.

Dave is a great recruiter when it comes to club but he is very average HS coach.

The lessening of DM has less to do with coaching than with the general rise of lax in other schools. STM, Spalding, GZ, SJC and now GC have all taken players away over the years. Safe to say Paul Rabil would never make the trek there with the choices available today. Move on.

DeMatha only cares about football and hoops.

It’s a hard school to recruit kids to as its facilities are subpar and academics are just slightly above average.

I’d send my son to GC over DM any day

This thread is a great place for parents’ bitterness to simmer about kids getting cut. Move on with your lives.
Wish it was just scores and analysis, as WaPo and others don’t provide anymore.

Biggest game on Tuesday is SJC v PVI. The others look very lopsided.

Poor example to use, the 2030 team was recruited as an entire team from BLC, and a few from ML. DM is 100% recruiting kids, and he has built a very successful program doing it.

Everyone send PVI good vibes. Need a DMV team to FINALLY beat St. John’s.

Cadet faithful …. You lost to Gilman, a team that hasn’t made the miaa playoffs in 5 years.

Perhaps, but even those in the MIAA believe that Gilman is very good this year.

The Next Level 2030 team came over as a package from BLC so you’re right, he didn’t recruit 5th grade players, he actually recruited an entire team of 5th grader players.

This is DC Urban Mom! Of course it is parents venting. But the analysis of a team falling off a cliff because of their new coach is completely accurate.
