DM lost 13-7 to St Ignatius. Once again out coached and the offense is horrible. If not for Matt Beachley there would be no offensive life. Close defense played well but DM spends so much time playing defense. The SSDM for DM are bad and every team that plays DM should exploit the SSDM with ease. This is possible the worst DeMatha lacrosse team I have ever seen. This is what no recruiting will do for a program. No real 26 or 27 recruits.

A friend of mine who saw the heights v DM game told me that DM just seems like a complete disaster of a program. Coaches fighting, no adjustments made, lack of recruitment, etc.

The former coach is laughing on his way to the bank to cash those club dues checks. I feel for the new coaching staff since they were left with such a rough hand

They have to bring Dave Mitchell back if they want to win now.

He'd have them all playing lights out and going D1 in no time, like he does with all of his club kids.

Dave Mitchell’s did nothing to elevate the DeMatha program.

The stags program was no better from when he inherited it to when he departed ways.

Dave is a great recruiter when it comes to club but he is very average HS coach.

Have to disagree about elevating the program. D Mitchell built a community- those kids liked him and he respected the players. If there was an issue, he responded. He talked to the players. If a text was sent, a text was received within the hour. HS lax is more than a score- he contributes to their development on and off the field. No personal knowledge about his recruitment either for HS or college but the guy has good intentions and I’ll take that over everything else as a parent. Didn’t he take the team to playoffs? Seems like he did ok as a coach.

Having someone who is responsive and cares about the actual kid is so much more important than a championship.

Maybe but don’t invoke Rabil. Paul Rabil has done nothing for DM. Many other alum who have had less fame have done more. Fame does not equal greatness.

Would look out for Stab in the visaa this year. Lot of tough games played injured and look elite when healthy. The PVI game shows they are here to stay. Have one of the best attacks in the whole country when healthy.

Please... they lost by 13 goals to Severn and only beat STA by a goal.

It will take the former Taft coach another 2 - 3 years of heavy recruiting and bringing in transfers to get them to the next level.

I'd argue this is the worst STAB team they've had since the post COVID era.

Yeah but you forget to mention the UVA and Cornell kids being out. (Defense coach has never played lacrosse before... just saying Bell!) Get his ass out!

GC beat STAB by 10 when everyone was healthy. STAB is overrated!

Where did all of the annoying SJC boosters go this spring?

Doesn’t diminish players used to travel and now they don’t have to.

Agreed. You want your kids to win championships, but if they are becoming better lacrosse players and young men while being recruited to play at the collegiate level, that's all a parent could ask for.

Anyone think PVi can upset the cadets tonight ?
Anonymous
Sure, it could happen. I hope not. But it could happen. Hopefully its streamed.

PVi is not particularly strong this year, likely the weakest team they have had in in the post COVID era.

Cadets win by 6.

I could see it be ing a close game in the first half but Cadets pull away big after the break.

Also keep in mind, the Cadets also have one of their weakest teams in past couple of years.
