lol. Transferring benchies will not help GC stay relevant next season. GC all hype / no bite and will finish #5 in WCAC behind GZ, SJC, DM, PVI next season. |
PVI didn't even have a JV this year so they are out of the picture. GZ is graduating a very good senior class. DM doesn't have a coach and loses a lot of minutes, goals and defense from their few good players. GC easily challenges for #2 in WCAC with the multiple transfers. |
Good Counsel needs to play a tougher schedule if they want to attract marquee players to your program. It's great the Falcons went 16-4 this season but they played a cup-cake schedule and your best quality win I guess is maybe DeMatha and that was before they fired their idiotic young coach (a month into the season). The Falcons were no better from when they started the season in March to when the season ended in the playoff being embarrassed by Gonzaga 18-6 in the WCAC semi-finals. I'm sure Dane is a brilliant recruiter through his Next Level connections, coaches a ton of talented area players at other privates and is pushing them to transfer to GC. Its widely known he is not the best X's and O's coach. Club coaching is not even close to the caliber of coaching you see in the HS ranks as it doesn't require scouting and studying the opposing team's tendencies. Most club games are running clock, and don't even have shot clocks, and the penalities are running time. I've also noticed a trend especially in the summer months most club teams are now being coached by young college lax bro's. And having watched Landon's JV squad this year, I can assure you they have more than 6 strong 2027s. The Bears JV was very good this year. If a player is going to leave for "greener pastures" at GC, it's likely he is worried about playing time. |
The transferring Landon 27 is going to SJC and not GC. This guarantees another 3 years of no IAC v SJC scheduling. |
Zero 2027s from Landon are going to SJC.
However there is one 2028 from Landon heading to SJC this Fall. |
There is also a Landon 28 going to good counsel |
Going to be a long summer and off-season.
First we had to listen to SJC homers for the las 24 months on how great they were (when they clearly weren’t this year) And now we have GC homers who have entered the forum. |
Not sure if this post is serious or not. Dane is doing good things at GC. But let’s pump the brakes a bit on them being #2. GC graduated 3 D1 players and their 25 class isn’t very strong. 26 class has some players and Dane will pull in some others. But they got steamrolled by GZ in the playoffs. They have a ways to go to catch GZ or SJC. |
I wonder why PVI is not getting the lacrosse players from Loudoun County? We always heard that they had a ton of kids and a lot do not get playing time. Maybe it is because of the newer coach? |
PVI was top 3 DMV team in 2023. Coach and staff left. They did not have coaching for a JV team. There were kids who wanted to play. This will set them back. |
That sucks. Hate to hear that. |
If DeMatha gets a good coach and a few more transfers, they will be the next team to host the WCAC trophy next season. They are returning there best 4 offensive players and only losing 1 offensive middie, both goalies, 2 close defenders, and the fogo is starting to come together. They need to fill the role of losing there LSM. |
Do kids get emailed when they make All Conference or All Met? |
Lot of hurdles at DM. True they will have a solid A, D, G. However, you gotta have mids to control in between the lines and their MF will be weak. SJC will be back on top next season and it won’t be close. GZ returns talent and will reload. I do like what PVI returns but will give edge to DM. GC is fools gold. Dane and parents will once again talk about transfers but they won’t help come big boy play. 2025 spring will be this. Book it. 1. SJC 2. GZ 3. DM 4. PVI 5. GC 6. SMR 7. Heights 8. Ireton |
