why? Lots of people are brutally murdered. You've all lost all sense of reality.

THANK YOU. This is a horrible tragedy, but let's be honest. Horrible crimes like this happen in rich and poor neighborhoods across America every week.

I doubt crimes like this are a common occurrence. I think it is a rare individual who can cause all the mayhem he did. His life must be absolutely devoid of any hope.

No, actually he could just be a psychopath. Feeling hopeless doesn't allow you to torture a little boy.

So I guess he is just a "bad seed" and this was just his destiny? This, jail or a mental institution? Sounds pretty hopeless to me.

They have scanned brains of serial killers and murderers and they are different. There are also biochemical differences as well.

Look at some children from horrific abuse situations that don't turn to crime and violence.

It's hard to stomach--but- yes- there are bad seeds.

Right. Plus, I'm sure he was raised by a loving, married mom and dad who took him to church regularly and raised him to be a good citizen.

Church attendance would have been the deciding factor. Excellent point.

Please tell me you don't believe this. Some of the most underhanded people I know are sure to be seen at church every week.

That was EXTREME sarcasm.

Im glad we have someone on here suggesting that a family business owner who just got murdered by a felon employee with 40 priors has a duty to employ felons because it makes society a better place. Puts this whole gruesome murder into perspective.

Why on earth wouls SS hire a person with a rap sheet? Maybe the perp used a different name?

Maybe he didn't run a background check. Maybe he ran it but didn't care. Maybe he was not in charge of hiring. Who knows why people do what they do.

Would you rather they never hire felons and create an even bigger societal problem?

Wow, just wow. If it would have prevented their them and their housekeeper from being murdered, yes. He is a small business owner, not the federal government.

"It takes a village", my arse.

Not hiring him would not have prevented him from doing what he did. It would've prevented him from targeting SS but he would've picked another victim. Punishing all convicted felons for the actions of a few is what is putting them on the streets and causing them to turn back to drugs and crime.

No. No. NO. You you need to learn more about criminals and why they do what they do. Part of it is that they are comfortable in the familiar.

So gross to look at that guy's facebook page...using photos of cars as if he worships them and selfie's that show his cut body. A culture of surface level obsession with looks and brands and money but no substance. Why is it so hard to find this d-bag? Surely plenty of his FB friends and family are happy to try and get that $25K reward.

They've been renovating that house for as long as I can remember. Very possible that Wint worked on the house.

Ch. 7: Wint was NOT working and his green card had not come in.

That could describe a lot of people here: concerned with appearances, but not concerned with how to actually achieve something for themselves.

his company is very large and has a large number of employees. Wint was likely a very low level guy, I guess SS did not hire him personally or even knew him.

on a side note http://www.americanironworks.com/missionStatement.aspx

Does anyone think the suspect's mother's business site (earlier in the thread) mimics this site, noted above? The suspect's mother's business site is horribly vague, leading me to believe she just wanted access to people with money, and that she deems people with money "stupid". Supposedly successful people achieved their status by being stupid? That's a new one.

The woman named Anthia Wint is likely not his mother-there is a Pamela wint who lives in Lanham with the same address as Darron Wint-Perhaps the woman with the business is his mother with an alias, a relative or not related at all-her business does seem bogus though!

Holy Snot! The 'relative' of Deron that was interviewed on Ch. 7 sounds Jamaican!

Agreed. Anyone know this woman? She looks way too happy to be on camera. I've known the S family for a while and have never seen/ heard of this person.

What about the neighborhood community?
What about the church community?
What about the workplace community?
Etc...

Why is the 'cathedral school community' any different than the other ones?

I went to the Cathedral schools and I have to agree with the OP. The Cathedral school community is unlike anything else I've ever been a part of, and I've been out of school for a very long time.

So awful to consider.

I too would like to know this.

Me, too but we should start a new thread.

My old alarm system had a panic button which would send a silent alert to police that you were being held against your will. You could also hit this button from a key fob in your pocket. Now, I have a dog with a ferocious bark and a baseball bat by the front door.
