Kyle Rittenhouse: Vigilante White Men

Don’t tell people to calm down. You’re not the teacher. People are furious. Furious, and looking for an outlet for that anger. And some outlet had better be found pretty quick or there’s going to be trouble. I was at a Shutdown DC emergency protest this evening at Judiciary Sq and I’m telling you, there is a ton of pent up rage and anger ready to come out over this.

I can say whatever I like. So I'll say it again for everyone in the back-- CALM DOWN!

Everyone is on edge about everything these days. Go have a glass of wine, watch a hallmark Christmas film and chill out! It's not like real change will come about in this country anyway. We've been facing the same demons for a while now. All this anger and protesting does is lead to more culture wars. Look how far that's gotten us. If folks can't chill out then let them destroy each other then there will be peace.

How about studying law as an outlet to that anger? This is a clear self defense case and you seem to be the one who is confused. Why not try to broaden your perspective? If so many people around you seem to be able to comprehend something that you do not then maybe try to figure out that different perspective?

there is no basis for them to get involved. What is the violation?

Uh, let’s see…. Murder? Crossing state lines with intent to commit murder? Violating the civil rights of protesters? Possession of an illegal gun?

Should I go on or is that enough to get you to S T F U ?

Wow, I’m embarrassed for you to speak so confidentially about things you are so wrong about. Your lack of knowledge about the facts is stark.

- didn’t cross state lines
- 0 evidence of intent to murder
- not an illegal gun and not illegal for him to have it
- don’t even know what the heck you are talking about re civil rights

FACT: Rittenhouse DID cross state lines
FACT: Rittenhouse was on video a few days prior saying he wished he had his AR while safely watching some protesters from afar with no immediate threat to him (intent to kill).

But of course this was a sham of a trial.

As an attorney, I would just love it if someone actually chimed in and explained the legal significance of the whole "crossing a state line" mantra that Rittenhouse's detractors continue to spout. FFS, what does that have anything to do with any element of any offense with which he was charged? This is America. People cross state lines all the time. I have been in DC, Maryland, and Virginia all within the last 24 hours.

It's a violation of federal law to travel to a state where it is illegal for you to have a gun. At first the news said he had the gun with him when he left home in IL. Then it was determined he picked up the gun in WI, so he wasn't charged. But many in the media continue to claim that he crossed state lines with a gun and that this shows intent to kill.

There is nothing wrong with him having "crossed state lines." Nothing. Not sure why the nuts are focusing on this like it is some kind of crime, unless they are pushing to make it a crime to cross state lines with a weapon.

Astounding that liberals are so concerned about Rittenhouse crossing state lines but can't seem to give a care in the world about nearly 2 million illegals crossing our southern border during Biden's term already. If we want to talk about "state lines," let's talk about the line between Texas and Mexico........

And, the possession charge was dropped not because he didn't carry it with him over state lines, but because the weapon he had was not a short barrel gun. The prosecution didn't take the time to measure the length of the barrel before including that as a charge. He was legally allowed to carry a long barrel gun, even at age 17.

Who, do you believe, is encouraging Americans to destroy ourselves?

Who benefits from Americans turning against one another?

The answer to that is a much bigger matter.

^^^ to the “calm down” poster, you really should start a new, thread solely on the topic you raise.

Your concern is legitimate, although it is lost amongst the noise of this thread.

Calm down.

If this ruling triggers "rage" in you then you really need to consider changing your media consumption.

If this miscarriage of justice doesn’t trigger “rage” in you, then you are either a republican or a the typical DC boutique progressive whose activism consists primarily on their Facebook or Instagram account.

I’m sure that protest was attended primarily by a bunch of privileged white kids who pretend to care about black lives when in reality they’re just confused, petulant children with Daddy issues. They can act like they care for social credit points and then go back to their segregated rich white neighborhoods and tell everyone what good people they are.

The city would be a much better place if they replaced all these insufferable white brats with the working class black and Hispanic kids they claim to care so much about.

You need to separate out the issues. What are your plans to make open carry illegal in Wisconsin? Or make it illegal to bring weapons to protests. What are you doing to make sure violent protesters are prosecuted?

Or maybe someone who has followed the trial, seen all the video evidence prior to the trial, and doesn’t really get emotionally invested in convicted someone who was 17 years old to potentially life in prison for killing a serial child rapist who was trying to kill him.

This might come as a shock to you, but their are a lot of leftists and independents out here who just really don’t like people who rape 9 year old boys.

I could care less about something that happens in Wisconsin. I don’t live under that state’s laws and I certainly don’t know them. Sadly, everyone gets so “raged” over anything they disagree with, it gets lost in all the noise. I’d rather trust the jury who got to the verdict.

Oh ok. What's the plan to replace them? March all the white people in to ovens?

The problem is that a large percentage of the people who are enraged about this trial are literally acting out of sheer ignorance. Some think all the people shot were black, others haven’t seen the video footage of Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse or shouting the n word earlier, or even know that Gaige testified in court that he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse before he was shot. Even less people even have read lengthy articles in The NY Times and Washington Post that detail the entire event solely by analyzing video from the night. Far fewer people have read the charging documents against Rosenbaum or even know that he served 14 years in prison for raping young 9 to 11 year olds.

I have never seen a court case where one side is arguing with such little knowledge of the facts. It’s like having an opinion on the Rodney King trial without watching footage of the cops beating him or having an opinion about OJ while being shocked when someone says Mark Furman was a racist.

I love when Liberals message board rage. The sound of their squeaky whining is really soothing for some reason. There's not enough popcorn in the house for those times...
