Trump has suggested that Iranians should take care of the problem themselves. Here are his exact words:
|
Don’t blame the people. Blame Netanyahu for making this war his baby/pet project For years now. How can we not blame him? Our Secretary of State outright said we are there because of Israel was going to go ahead and do the strike without us. As if they can do anything without us |
Well said, now let's hurry up approve this bill to send another 50 billion to Israel please https://subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2026/03/democrats-iran-supplemental-funding-pro-00813547 |
Still waiting for an answer... |
Bullshit. We have two decades of experience watching these Middle East adventures turn into disasters. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya. Whether we put ground troops in or not, it never works. You're going to come in with some reasons why it's different this time, but we were told that every other time too. I don't believe you, just like I don't believe you care about US casualties if you come in and say "cry harder" when people talk about them. |
Nothing about the Austin TX shootings except for “Israel did it” on this forum |
So who do you want to bomb the US? |
So that’s a no? |
We managed to lose thousands of Americans and a couple of trillion dollars without any draft at all. And of course we're still paying for it since we borrowed the money. Our great-grandkids will probably still be paying for that war before we even get to the cost of this war. |
A lack of preparation is a guarantee of failure. The fact is that the US did not adequately plan or prepare for this action. It did not take into consideration timeframes, consequences, or how Iran could hit back. It is already failing miserably. |
I misplaced my invite to CentCom, so am afraid I can’t give you a definitive answer. But if I had to guess, I’d surmise that the calculation goes something like this: 1. Destabilize Iranian military and political leadership, creating as much instability as possible. 2. Empower and arm opposition, hoping that they depose leadership. 3. Destroy Iran’s force projection capability entirely. Best case: 1&2 work and you get a new regime. Worst case: regime survives, but is defanged and cowed. Iran’s military capabilities destroyed and created a massive deterrent against future Iranian adventurism in the region. Actual worst case (in my opinion): failed state or suicidal regime willing to engage in global terrorism to exact revenge. |
You can’t even get regime change in Gaza . It took 10 years to get regime change in Syria. How are they going to get regime change in Iran? Trump is notoriously impatient. Within a few weeks or less, he’s going to want this wrap this up and move on. |
Are military never allowed to fight? |
You have no idea whether any of what you wrote is accurate. Literally nothing but speculation. |
DP. Wars or military action in general should be the absolute LAST resort. They have become Trump's go-to. |
