There is it is people. Israel - give me everything you have and I will demand more while spitting in your face. Hey win a war without the US. |
DP. But when an idiot is the one leading the regime change, it’s really not good for anyone. |
Yes, I'm an American. What's "reflexively anti-American" about what I said? Trump started a war (or let himself be led into one) that does not include a coherent plan for what comes AFTER the strategic bombings. Don't believe me. Read if for yourself. Here is a gift link to an article in the NYT where Trump muses about the possible ways this war could end. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/01/us/politics/trump-iran-war-interview.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Q1A.yZg2.S6fO7L36nXet&smid=url-share Some highlights from the article: "In a brief telephone interview with The New York Times, Mr. Trump offered several seemingly contradictory visions of how power might be transferred to a new government — or even whether the existing Iranian power structure would run that government or be overthrown." These are the what-comes-after scenarios he mused about: 1) "Among the options he suggested was an outcome similar to what he engineered in Venezuela, in which only the top leader was removed during an American military strike and much of the rest of the government remained in place, but newly willing to work pragmatically with the United States." 2) "When pressed on his plans for a transition of power, Mr. Trump said he hoped Iran’s elite military forces — including hardened officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps who have held substantial influence and profited from the existing regime — would simply turn over their weapons to the Iranian populace. 3) But then he described a scenario in which the Iranian people would overthrow the existing government. “That’s going to be up to them about whether or not they do,” Mr. Trump said. “They’ve been talking about it for years so now they’ll obviously have an opportunity.” That would, of course, be the opposite of the Venezuela model that he had said minutes earlier he wanted to replicate. |
You know what would be even better for the world? Getting rid of Trump as US president. Between the chaos of his tariffs, his dismantling of the post-war alliance, his threatening of neighbor countries, his willingness to take bribes from other countries, his shooting of US protestors and foreign boats, is more destabilizing to the world order than the Ayatollah ever was. |
+1 million |
I care about dead American soldiers. I really and truly do. The people posting that this war is unjustified or a bad idea because of the comparatively extremely small number of American casualties do not actually care about America or its interests. They are appealing to emotion because they have nothing else to cling to. |
Then they need to rise up and make that happen. Or do you think that the US should do it FOR them by deploying soldiers to Iran and starting a land war, followed by an occupation? Because that's what it would take to effect a significant regime change. |
Lol. I live within 45 minutes of multiple bases and these people are my friends. My kids go to school with theirs. We go on base for events. I admire and respect them more than someone like you could possibly understand. You want to hope that the US fails bc you hate Israel? That’s your prerogative, but understand that it disgusts me and people like me. |
PP here. I’m in favor of both. Let’s get rid of Trump and the Iranian regime. |
This is simply TDS and delusions about Israel. |
DP. How, exactly, do you propose to get rid or the Iranian regime? That is the burning question right now. Everyone would like to know the answer. Let's hear it--what's the plan? |
Are you enlisting your son and daughter? How dare you call it emotion. The people who want this war have no skin in the game |
Precisely this. |
PP. Yes, but now that it’s happening, we should all hope like hell that it succeeds! If the US fails, it’s bad for us, bad for the Iranian people, and bad for the region. Would I have attacked Iran? No. But now that it’s done, I’m sure as hell hoping that the mission succeeds. |
To to think this war somehow equates to success for the United States is your prerogative, but that view disgusts me and I also I have military friends and family. |
