All those teams need to be able to do to be better than FCV is connect a pass and stay on their feet. FCV has taken every shortcut possible and film don't lie.

I dont think FCV connected more than 2 passes.

FCV... Midfield was terrible. No way their the top team in NOVA or the DMV.
They all played kicked ball. Looked like a Rec Team tbh

FCV used to play with more skill. They need Gus back yesterday.

Zero skill players!! everything was and is kick, punt, run. They need alot back. Eric should be coaching these girls

They are behind VDA in NOVA. Who would you suggest is better? It's certainly not McLean, Loudoun, Metro, VYS or SYC. 2008 is pretty much a bad year for the entire DMV if not including Richmond or Pipeline. Sorry.

BTW when teams at the U12 and U13 age play other better or equal teams, many times it turns into kickball. The reason this happens is because players are faster than the possession itself forcing "kickball". And don't think you are above it. Just try playing a much better team and see how your "possession" reacts.

Arlington is better than VDA. They are just as physical, but faster and have more skil.

Sure

"A much better team"? STA is ranked LOWER than FCV is, by a lot.

RRRRRREEEEELLLLLLLAAAAAAAXXXXXXX!!! Even Professional athletes struggle with the time zone difference yet alone 12 and 13 year old girls.

LOL!! Flying West is easy. That was a afternoon game to them. It’s not like asking a West coast team to play at 10am on the East Coast.

The turf LOL!!!!!!!!

FCV can’t make 10 yard passes on Bermuda grass fields. That is hilarious!!!

One of the major problems is they only have 1 goal scoring threat who's really not even a threat; just a kick & run player. Cant win when the entire youth soccer world knows exactly who your trying to "KICK" the ball to.

This is where speed of play comes in. You select players with speed of play, technical ability and soccer IQ who have the athleticism need for their position. When you run into faster teams you can really see who holds on to the ball too long, gets out of pressure, turns into pressure, completes passes, bounce balls off their shins, good first touch, bad first touch, etc. You do not need speed of play or technical skills when playing against slower, less athletic and or less physical players.

And kids had time on the ball, they simply held onto it until they were hit, that is when they kicked the ball to a teammate. Not a single player knew where they wanted to go with the ball other than generally forward.

It was far from technical polish and lacked any and all tactical sophistication. They stole a point.

She’s definitely a threat but too often has to beat multiple defenders. They’d be in a world of hurt without her.
