So agree and though I am torn, I believe 100% he will get confirmed as does my husband who is not at all a fan of his nomination to begin with.

I extremely rarely watch TV when the kids are home but I’m doing it now. I let them have at it with screens after doing HW and cleaning their rooms. But I’m going to have to go to a school meeting soon!

DH is doing it all. I hiding out in my home office. Teehee

He’s used to being a judge and in charge of proceedings. He is pissed he is in the hot seat and has to answer questions.

He’s temperamental and he’s a liar at minimum about Renate, Devils Triangle, etc. He is not fit to be on the SCOTUS. Next!

1. The short soundbites being played on the news are not as damning as watching him for hours and hours. Average Joe is not going to get the full impact that the highly-interested, inside-the-beltway types are getting. Plus, it seems that he has toned things down a bit, which is good because normal people (who can't watch the hearing at work) are just getting home and tuning in.

2. The GOP doesn't want their base to turn on them. They fear that possibility more than the possibility of losing some moderates or enraging liberals, who disproportionately live in already deep-blue states and districts..

3. Most importantly, they fear that by not confirming him, they will be opening the floodgates to more of these kinds of allegations about skeletons from the distant past. They will view this as an important statement that "this sort of shakedown won't work." Basically, it will be about survivalism.

I'm about 99% sure that Collins, Murkowski, or Flake do not meet these three criteria.

But wha the democrats are doing today is downright demonic. Really disgusting sham.

If you're a Democrat, I'm Donald Trump.

LOL And I am the queen of England.

Spaghetti sauce from a jar. Homework done already. Rare screentime on a school night!

That's the GOP talking point, a meaningless distraction. One Democrat, Diane Feinstein, withheld the letter from Ford because Ford asked for anonymity. There was no way to bring the allegation forward and have it investigated if Ford was unwilling to make the charge against Kavanaugh. There could be no investigation back in August for that reason.

The GOP have selective amnesia. Ford did not want her name known. At that point, she did not want an investigation, so there was nothing for Feinstein to go forward with.

Hammering this b.s. point is a smokescreen to pretend that there's no way to investigate NOW. The FBI could investigate in two days.

the GOP are engaging in a coordinated strategy to LIE about this.

Everyone. He has also refused to answer a lot of questions.

By contrast, Ford answered every single question put to her. No obfuscation. If she didn't know the answer, she said so.

I’m not defending his interruptions Ds are also cutting him off and not letting him answer and they didn’t do that to her (and neither did Mitchell) - which was good them

He keeps going off topic. He avoids the question and goes back to his talking points.

He was totally interrupting Blumenthal. He apparently didn't get the memo that he needs to appear at least somewhat likeable.

Totally!

Watch his nose. He wrinkles it up when he is uncomfortable. I first noticed it with the first question about Judge.

I believe fully and wholeheartedly she is lying.

Well she did lie about flying. Supposedly she didn’t want to come to DC because she would have to fly. Turns out she flew to DC in the summer to see family in Rehoboth and has flown to many destinations around the world

I completely believe the assault occurred, but she has no evidence of who did it. The fact that she fell apart for the remainder of high school and two years of college never raised her parents concern or that of a Holton-Arms Arms counselor. People of her SES would have had her at a shrink.

I get it that the Republicans are pissed about the delay in all of this coming out, but why are they harping on it so much? Does that really have anything to do about whether he did it or not? (And if you argue that it's a last minute stunt, did you hear Ford say that she was trying to figure out how to warn people before he was even nominated?)
