Emails were used last year.

Also, according to the website, orientations for Level 4 schools start April 14, so that would likely be a pretty hard deadline for receiving a decision letter.

The “rumor” was started by an AART, who said we would be notified by email today (4/8).

Someone else here claims their AART said notifications would be made by April 26. Yet orientations are already on school schedules starting next week. So maybe the AARTs aren’t a reliable source of info?

And the FCPS website was updated last year to say they would email them. This year the website says “decision letters” will be sent.

+1 she said April 8 or later. My guess is Friday now. This hold up is so crazy. I guess orientations will be delayed too.

I really wish they would communicate something to all instead of us relying on random AART communications.

My AART said the same - April 8 or later through email.

Does the AART already know which kids got in? My DD was invite to attend several sessions with the AART teacher starting this week, I'm wondering if that means she is getting screened for Level III instead.

Our AART meets with all the classes, K-6, every other week. I am not sure how that is handled, as an entire class or small groups.

Yes. I just got a message from the AART that our child got in. Child is 5th grade and did not get in in second grade.

Yet another AART going rogue but congratulations. I am sure it's a relief after all these years. I am in the same boat.

If willing to share, was your child being pulled in for the AAP math since third grade and did you apply every year since second grade or just this one time? Wondering if better to keep applying each year if each year get rejected or if any AART has said to not do that?

DP. Mine didn't get in in 2nd, got rejected in 3rd, but then got in on appeal. The AART told us to apply and appeal every year, since the process is kind of random and eventually my child would get in. I would guess that it depends on whether the AART thinks your kid belongs in AAP or not. If they do think so, they'll support your child every year. If not, applying repeatedly would probably annoy them and lead to low GBRS over and over. (Kid had 130 CogAT composite, meh GBRS in 2nd, 15 GBRS in 3rd, maxed out DRA both years, Advanced math and LIII pull outs in 3rd).
