PP forgot the final couple of sentences, which are brilliant too:

“This is not partisan. It is simply about recognizing the moral vacuum that is now pretending to lead.”

Rector needs to read the "Sermon on the Mount." "Judge not, that ye be not judged."

‘This can’t be happening’: An oral history of 48 surreal, violent, biblical minutes in Washington
https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/this-cant-be-happening-an-oral-history-of-48-surreal-violent-biblical-minutes-in-washington/2020/06/02/6683d36e-a4e3-11ea-b619-3f9133bbb482_story.html

Eventually there will be a detailed accounting of what actually happened, and how, and why. For now, in the midst of the confusion, here is a first draft of history in miniature, in minutes — an oral history of 6:30 to 7:18 p.m. on June 1, 2020.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: To pose for a photo op at St. John's Episcopal Church.

This piece has accounts from truth tellers and the liars. It is easy to tell which is which.

Sorry if this has been answered already! But why do you think this photo of Trump with the bible in front of the church seems to have made such an impression? It seems to be a sort of tipping point even for Trump supporters. Why is that?

but, she was also offended that Trump used "our sacred text." Sorry lady, but it is my sacred text, too, and I'm fine with Trump holding it My opinion that it would have been a crying shame if vandals had burned the church down. Apparently, she is fine with looters and vandals, but not a president who doesn't want her church burned down.

p.s. people who light churches on fire are NOT peaceful protesters.

Sure it would have been a shame. But the arson was the previous day. And trump didn’t even mention it either by the way. He literally walked over there, held up a bible, said “what a great country,” and left. Nothing about the church. Sorry to disillusion you.

Because he gassed peaceful demonstrators to make a completely calculated attempt to use religion to move the subject from a death that haunts even the far right to anger and even violence against a few low lives that really are completely irrelevant to the conversation we all know we need to have.
