Post-DA future - Girls

Top 2/3rds of exGDA players opt to test the waters at ECNL tryouts. Plenty of politicking and back channel discussions occur. 8-12 players across the 3 exDA clubs are slam dunks to get onto an ECNL roster without a good look especially where there are coaching changes. ECNL clubs make advance offers in May to attempt to secure these players, as well as their current top players. exDA clubs make advance offers as well in an attempt to stop the bleeding.

Tryouts begin in July, and even then are limited. Of ~60 exDA players avbl (MU, FCV, Arl), exDA clubs retain ~20, leaving ~40 distributed between VDA, BRYC, McLean, Loudoun, Bethesda. Varies across ages, but ECNL rosters take on average of 8-10 exDA players each, Bethesda takes on less due to proximity. Rosters grow to 23-24, bottom ~6-8 players drop down to RL teams. Each ECNL team fields RL team to retain as many players as possible.

There will be no fall soccer.

This is the likely scenario indeed-we are hearing EDP as the new league.

Coming on this board and telling everyone how great your kid and FCV are will not earn your kid a roster spot on a ECNL team.

You obviously have a big chip on your shoulder with the, "I'll show you!" mentality.

Who exactly are you trying to impress?

You don't even know who to direct your anger at. I assure you, the ECNL parents had zero impact on USSF shutting down your precious league.

Only a weak man lives vicariously through his teenage daughter. Man up

Lmao. VDA 04. Just looked it up. 6 wins out of 20 games. Negative goal differential. Just the best!!!! Bring on Tophat. Btw VDA dad, no ex GDA players coming there anyway. Worst choice of all the local ecnl clubs. You may be begging for 6 wins next season if there is one.

I certainly won't fight you on that, It was a horrible start to the season with a lot of things happening and a long unpredictable year with DP goalie learning. Even with all that however, we out scored you when the teams we played were the same just look up. I know a big secret, Don't be surprised when you are left behind and some of those crazy talented players come to VDA. here is anything thing for you to go and think about. If FCV in what you think is your unstoppable A squad can't even beat Bethesda what do you think is going to happen when the A squad is split up? VDA will be just fine little grasshopper. Tell your kid to stop making Tic Toks and get to work.

Oh my, if it was a goalie issue, there are 3 great goalies at all of the DA teams who can come and fix that.

If there is no summer MLB and no fall NFL or college football, there will be no fall soccer.

It's April. At this time in February you didn't even know there was going to be this cluster. Why does anyone think they have ANY idea in April what will happen in September? Everyone has to come up with scenarios, but they are "what ifs" at this point.

Well said. NFL and MLB are in a very different situation than youth soccer. Also don't be surprised if they do have it in some form. Just my opinion, I am not God and can't see into the future.

Good Morning little pup,

I see you're projecting once again. It must be exhausting. Make sure you stay hydrated with all that sweating your doing. Your brain function is starting to deteriorate. Your not even responding to the correct post nor the correct poster. You're selling wolf tickets to people who cant even taking you serious anymore. You are most definitely the parent of young player. You lack experience.

Now, if you make claims based on emotion that all FCV teams will crush all local ECNL teams by five goals (like you did a few post back), you should be prepared for a counter. If someone post scores to counter your claim, don't keep crying.

Assuming players are extended offers in May and there is no clear indication when or if soccer will happen in 2020, a deposit and financial commitment to pay for the year is going to be expected. For all the hand wringing, you may be committing thousands of dollars to be on a Zoom team, to get exposure to college programs that will almost certainly be reducing the scholarship money they have available.

You've been listening to Henny Penny I see. Very well. There will probably be an RL spot or two open for you when you're ready to commit. It's ugly, but that is how it will work. This is youth soccer of course. I expect that the forecast for sports will become clear by June and pending that, there may be some contingent payment plans offered.
