Post-DA future - Girls

FCV were kicked out of ECNL R a month ago. 0% chance ECNL wants them back. Time to head to mclean

Travel soccer most likely will not come back till spring 2021. Some states will be closed others will be opened in the fall and clubs will fail(even ECNL clubs). ASA is a huge program and will most likely get invited to ECNL(and any club that is political connected). These ED and coaches know each. A few hate each other but most are pretty cordial.

The question is what will happen with Virginia and Maryland high school soccer season? You could have Va and Md playing their soccer season at the same time. Maybe that will become a permanent situation? Now you can realign things and add a few teams.

You could also see these DA clubs form their own league....more money in that!

The biggest question is whether ECNL is truly a non-profit that places youth soccer above all else or whether they are as greedy and power-grabbers like any other non-profit soccer clubs or leagues. If they are greedy and want money like everyone else, they will accept most if not all DA girls teams.

Remember, ECNL and everyone is very financially hurt by this virus so money and survivability is more important now than ever.

Where is the official notification from DA of the termination of the league? Soccerwire etc are not the DA.

Forming their own league is an idea, but they will see a ton of talent move to ECNL. And it's not just "talent", but likely the best players on DA team. Every non-DA club will likely see some improvement, some much more than others. Ex-DA clubs will see a hit. Already failing/hurting clubs will probably continue to fail.
