Funny how so many on this post are finding reasons to justify the calling of police.
1. There was obviously no one endangered, no drama, no ill will toward the group until one woman had an issue with them. 2. There is no evidence that the unit owner hadn’t made arrangements with building/pool managers. 3. The woman who called police did not have a copy of the bylaws. Sad sad world we live in. |
+1. You call the cops when you feel the need to call the cops. The End. |
The danger was having so many children at the pool at the same time without lifeguards. It is unclear how many adults were present with the kids and whether any of them had lifeguard training. There is no evidence that the condo owners had made any arrangements with the HOA to invite so many children to the pool area at one time. |
Interesting. I think it's funny how many on this post want to make up facts to absolve the pool crashers of any accountability. |
Correct. MoCo should address this with the officers. There was no crime being committed here (possibly trespass if the guests weren't allowed) but it doesn't take a law degree to understand that with the situation presented the officers would need management to show up and make the complaint. Random citizen can make a complaint but if there's no evidence of a crime the police need to go. It boggles my mind that the police would stay on the scene over the rantings of some ancient nutbar with an axe to grind. |
That's called an argument and condo/HOA rules, not a crime. You don't call the police for that. They aren't your personal grievance squad. |
This! +1000 |
One report said that the woman who called was on the HOA board, so not a random citizen. If people won’t leave when they’ve been asked to leave a place they are not supposed to be, it’s not out of line to call the police. |
A member of the HOA board doesn't have a copy of the rules? As a guest of one of the members, they had a right to be there. Why is this so hard to understand? |
Not if the owner had not made the proper advance arrangements for a party. If permission has not been granted for a party, then they do not have the right to be there. |
That's a violation of the HOA rules. It is not criminal. If I don't get permission to paint my house, can you call the police and have me arrested? |
Exactly! These people just think they can do anything they want |
And some jurisdictions are passing a law that you will be charged it the call was for no good reason. |
An HOA member who can't provide the rules to them cops. Yes it's stupid to call cops to manage your HOA rules. |
| Hundreds of responses justifying this horrible choice. Wow. We really, really want to find something, anything but racism to justify this woman's behavior. Got it. |
