Guests in the condo pool. Call the police?

Anonymous
Saw this online today and it made me sad that those kids had to witness these adults act this way.

On one hand I get that you don’t want your condo pool treated like a public pool, but on the other hand, aren’t your neighbors allowed to have guests so long as their responsible for those guests? Also it was clearly a little party, so why call the police?

I also wonder if Montgo Police should have been asking the complainant to provide proof of the bylaws instead of the people making hamburgers.

Depends on the condo policy. But this is a civil dispute. Why are the police involved?

Seriously WTF. The police are there for what...trespassing? However, they openly admit they were there with a resident, so them what? As PP said, enforcing HOA? Are they going to fine or drag someone to jail? No, that's ridiculous, so what's up with the harrassment? Got nothing better to do?

So ridiculous. The police should have nothing to do with interpreting HOA rules.

I’m going to guess these kids aren’t white.

Yup, I’m right.

I'm sorry but the lady who called the police must know somebody who knows somebody at Montgomery police. Doesn't make any sense.

I try not to jump on the race thing, but without knowing which building this is or the size - how would the angry neighbor even know that those kids didn’t “belong” there? I also question her condo board status along with her mental health status.

Why are my tax dollars paying for three police officers to spend two hours dickering over HOA rules? There is no crime or public safety issue-why did they even come out?

They both sound obnoxious. We don't know know the other side and that doesn't look like a small party. That looks like a huge party with lots of kids and people and it should have been condo approved first. There are 12 kids in that picture, plus parents. It isn't a public pool. I'm tired of all the racial comments and attacks going both ways. The woman who posted it is looking for attention and equally obnoxious.

And, maybe the poster was looking for a reaction to make it a race issue as many of her comments were about white people and trying to shame her. If you look at where she lives, she doesn't live in the condo. There is far more to the story than what is posted.

Condo pools dislike children and specially visiting children.
Here we have a group of children who are "black and brown". They had no chance of not getting into trouble. The Police should be there to tell her to leave the kids alone. She needs to prove to HOA that they were violating the rules. This is when the caller is wrong but since she called, she seemed to be right. I'll be following it.
I hope MoCo residents will contact the police and ask about it.
We have a lady like that in the building. She called the security every time she alleged a violation. Security never found any wrong-doing but responded to every call. The building is now under investigation for harassment and discrimination.

We have held birthday parties of a similar size at our HOA pool with no issue, as long as we pay the guest fees.

I don't understand how these old racist ladies don't realize they aren't going to be internet famous when they pull this shit.

The police should not be involved. Its up to the pool lifeguard to enforce the HOA policies regarding the pool. Not random people.

You take guesses here just as much as everybody else. As long as we are guessing, why didn't 200 other residents call the police? Did they?

So, the question is was this organized and did they pay the guest fees? The woman may have been on the HOA board and knew they didn't pay. Its fine to hold a party with permission but that wasn't exactly a small gathering if there were 12 kids. It is one thing to bring another family with 1-3 or so kids but 12 kids plus parents is easily another 30+ people.

I think both are racist. This woman was clearly looking to make a race war with how many times she brought up race. Racism goes both ways. She was looking for a fight, she was looking for attention and it didn't even seem from her profile that she lived there. The other woman may have just asked if they paid their party fees, and the answer was no and the argument started. She may have asked them to leave or pay the fee, they refused. We don't really know what happened so to call her racist without knowing the entire story when the woman posting is also clearly racist is unfair. What is the back story here?
