Given that we have had only three presidents who have been impeached or come close to impeachment, I don't know whether history is a guide. Besides, impeachment is a political process as much as a criminal proceeding so demolishing the credibility of the FBI and DOJ works well to rally the Republicans. "Almost 3-in-4 Republican voters think the FBI and Justice Department are trying to undermine President Trump, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Monday." https://www.axios.com/poll-fbi-delegitimize-trump-republicans-doj--9e9e71a3-74f0-409a-8318-f690917386d0.html Only 16% of Republicans have a favorable view of Mueller and 49% have an unfavorable view. http://maristpoll.marist.edu/wp-content/misc/usapolls/us180410/Mueller%20and%20FBI_NPR_PBS%20NewsHour_Marist%20Poll_National%20Nature%20of%20the%20Sample%20and%20Tables_April%202018.pdf#page=3 So, I'd say the full frontal assault on Mueller, the FBI and the DOJ has worked out pretty well for Trump. And as I have said repeatedly, the opinion of Democrats is inconsequential when it comes to how Republicans in Congress view Trump. |
Hi! Trump voter here! Still voting for him! Bye! |
That's fine. Especially if you are not a Christian. If you are a Christian, you need Jesus. |
Jesus would vote for the democrats. |
He literally could shoot someone. |
Jesus wouldn’t vote. He would be disgusted by what is happening in this country. Such hate. Such tribalism. |
Who cares. We just need the middle 5% of the electorate to break left and a decent turnout. Things are looking good. #basta |
“Asked in a 2007 deposition if he always speaks honestly about his net worth, Trump said, "My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings. But I try." The lawyer asked for more explanation and Trump obliged. "As to where the world is, where the world is going, and that can change rapidly from day to day. Then you have a September 11th, and you don't feel so good about yourself ... and you don't feel so good about New York City," he said. "Then you have a year later, and the city is as hot as a pistol. ... So yeah, even my own feelings affect my value of myself." Under oath, Trump's big claims grew more nuanced. His lawsuit was dismissed in 2009.” https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/13/politics/donald-trump-depositions-history/index.html |
Regrettably, I am not a Trumpus Troll, as you so elegantly put it. And regardless of my political leaning, I am simply relying on an Ooinion issued in 2014 by the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel. |
You will get no argument from me that Trump lies and exaggerates. The issue is whether he has committed perjury and your own citation says that "under oath, Trump's big claims grew more nuanced". Trump's net worth has been the subject of controversy and has varied by several billion dollars depending on the source. I can see Trump giving a conservative or aggressive net worth number depending on his agenda. But perjury is a whole different subject and there is no evidence that he perjured himself as determined in a court of law. |
Me too! His supporters havent waivered. Sorry libs! |
Says more about y’all than it does about us. |
+1 this kind of unwavering support is scary. Cultish. |
Tfumpkin typed “waivered.” Heh-heh. |
When Bill Clinton was impeached and was known to have lied under oath, guess how many Democratic senators voted to remove him from office? Zero! Cultish behavior obviously. |
