If he was on the credit card list it was not a prank. Sorry.

If it is email list only then it is possible it was a prank.

I'm sorry who signs someone up for an anonymous cheating website as a PRANK? It's not like they knew it'd get out. I feel for you, but that's BS.

Because the person gets junk email. That's funny in a frenemy kind of way

I'm in the same boat. On the one hand, I would want to know. On the other hand, I don't want to bring it up if she already knows and is hoping no one has seen his name.

Print it and mail it to her pffice

Why? So she can then wonder and worry about who knows and sent it? Anonymous mailings are cowardly and unfair. It's best to keep it to yourself and leave them alone.

There are a number of sites that will confirm this. I sure hope you plan to follow up.

That's a dangerous "prank" because what sort of friend would want to cause potential problems in someone's marriage for sh$$ and giggles. How come this prank didn't come to light until not only the list came out but you knew his name was on the list.

I have searched and searched. Can't find the list. Can anybody help with what the right search terms should be?
Anonymous
The entire list is a torrent for download that requires some (not a ton, but some) technical knowledge to peruse.

I'm aware through news reports that there are excel spreadsheets with all the names for a particular state or zip code floating around, but don't know the specifics and they would take more than a Google search to find.

Did anyone divorce after finding spouse on the list?
Can you even use this information during divorce proceedings?

What are you talking about? Use this information for what purpose in divorce? If you don't want to be married then just get no fault divorce. There is zero gain from making even provable accusations. Divorce doesn't work like that anymore.

Virginia is a fault state.

No, Virginia is a no-fault state - as in, you can get a no-fault divorce. I am not a lawyer, but I am the proud possessor of a no-fault Virginia divorce. Like many states, there are "fault" divorces available in Virginia as well, but getting one is much harder than getting a no-fault divorce. Proving adultery is hard, and just showing an email address on a hack list isn't going to do it. This is why PIs get paid to walk around with cameras.

The only person I know who got a "fault" divorce got one from a guy who was convicted of fraud, because Virginia awards a no-fuss accelerated divorce on the basis of a criminal conviction. It also helped her make it clear to the many places he'd used her SSN and personal information to obtain loans that she wasn't part of the fraud. He was an obvious slimeball, and we warned her, but she was desperate and wanted to see what she wanted to see. It was all fine until the real estate bubble blew up and he got caught with his pants down.

BS. That was no prank. Denial is powerful in this one.

no but I found a guy whom I had briefly dated on it--I later discovered he was married with two tween daughters from his facebook page. Seems like I was not the only person he cheated with. Found him on the ffx underground site. funny thing is, he is such a dweeby, nerdy guy.
