I like the dress. Not crazy about the aesthetic enhancements to her face.

Old lady loose skin thin arms...needs longer sleeves.

This is not "old lady loose skin thin arms." I'd kill for this definition.

Great arms but looks too thin. Is this a wig?

100% it's a wig.

I kind of hate to be a hater, but Nicole Kidman seems unhinged. The obsession with being thin and not aging. Ma'am, we know you're 58. Her banter with Ewan McGregor was so cringey and he was clearly not into it at all. She seems unable to process that she's no longer 30 and simply doesn't know how to mature. It's really bizarre.

Yes to all of this. Plus she has a bizarre need to be the coquettuish sexpot in everything. Yes, Nicole you are the sexiest and you totally look 35. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look attractive over 50 but she seems slightly unhinged and possibly narcissistic. It did not help when she was hauling Keith Urban around and posing like he is her 20 year old son. But now that Keith got sick of her and left she's doubling down on the need to be the sexiest woman in Hollywood.Weird sh-t.

Yeah that schtick has gotten ridiculous, and from such an accomplished woman to boot. I think she's taking this divorce hard, and overcompensating. Hopefully she'll settle down. Mid life crises are not pretty to witness!

She took her divorce from Cruise hard as well.

She's too focused on herself to make a marriage work. Similar to J Lo in that way.

Not really. J Lo has had mostly short marriages.

This is for a different thread I guess but I find Nicole Kidman psychology kind of fascinating. she’s clearly this very successful woman but there seems something a little broken about her. She’s very different from J Lo—she seems like she actually cleaves onto a man and then sticks with him regardless of his issues, until it explodes under the pressure. She seems weirdly emotionally needy which I guess relates back to her fashion choices and the plastic surgery and her diet/exercise regime. I would expect her to get married again. Maybe a producer or agent or something.

She doesn't have the you-know-what appeal to wear this kind of dress. Very stiff and wooden.

Another view. I think it looks boring and too basic but fine from the front, and then she turns and you're like "oh. she's naked." Having the cut up the sides isn't really sex because it's invisible from the straight on view. So unlike a high leg slit or cut outs or something, there's no inkling that the dress is even meant to be sexy at all. It just look like a white strapless sheath. And then it's SO revealing from the side that it almost feels embarrassing, like you question if it fits her correctly because why would you want a dress that looks like it's just two strips of fabric pasted to your front and back? It's not sexy, it's not interesting, it's not flattering.

I saw an interview with her once where she was like “this ass looks pretty good for 50, right?” And she slapped herself on the butt. That’s what this dress is saying.

Her ass doesn’t look that good, though. I actually like the stark simplicity of the front for a woman of a certain age. But the side view is tragic.

It does look good for someone in their 50s who I suspect has not had plastic surgery done (I think this is a point of personal pride for her). But that doesn't mean the dress is flattering or that it is worthwhile for everyone to go look at her butt. She looks good for her age and also she has some age appropriate sagging and dimpling. No shame at all, I have the same (and also look good for my age!) but it's just going to invite people to comment on how her butt isn't good enough for this look. When in reality, this dress is only going to look good on a supermodel because of the amount of exposure. She's naked.

This whole time I’ve thought Paltrow was in her late 60s. She’s only 53?! Why do all these Hollywood women look so old? It’s horrible.

White women generally look super old super fast.

What a bizarre comment.

+1. So many people looking positively skeletal.

I’m more weirded out by the plastic surgery faces. At some point, looking 20 years younger than your real age isn’t impressive. It’s just weird looking.

Agree. And some of these women are not thin due to ozempic. Demi has looked this way for decades now. I think some of those women limit carbs, eat no sugar, and work out a couple hours a day. Anniston is another like that. I don’t even think it’s really an eating disorder — they are actually probably really healthy but I would be homicidal if I lived like that. But I do know people who really love a lean chicken breast over bulgar with kale followed by an hour of Pilates.

I admit it totally don’t know but Kidman has the look to me of someone who is so stressed out by her perfectionism that she has diarrhea almost every day. She just seems so, so tightly wound.

This is just straight up insane. OF COURSE IT'S AN EATING DISORDER.

Are you one of those ignorant people who think every thin person has an eating disorder? My mother, my best friend and my son are all underweight naturally and have tiny appetites. They're genetically programmed that way. All three have been on weight-gaining diets at some point in their lives.

Also, plump people can have eating disorders too, just so you know. The size you see has NOTHING to do with the existence of an eating disorder.

Yasss!

I'm sick of Demi Moore. When it looked like she had lobbed her hair for Paris Fashion Week, I was so excited - but alas, it was just a wig. The hair is beyond dated and old.

Her hair is gorgeous. You're rude. You will never look that good at her age.

Mmkay. We disagree, and it's clear who is rude here.

NP I’m a Demi fan and I wish she would cut her hair. It’s pretty but it’s so weirdly long. She looked awesome with a longer bob decades ago.

NK has acted exactly the same way at every awards show, on the red carpet and in interviews since at least 2016 Big Little Lies (the beginning of her career renaissance) and constantly. And she would have acted exactly the same way if she had dragged Keith Urban along last night. I'm surprised she didn't have her daughter on her arm though.

I like Maya's dress well enough. I didn't like Kristin's - I think you can either have a drapey top or a full skirt, but not both. I did like the color though.

Agree on Ellie, and of course Rose was one of the best looks of the night.

Melissa, Melissa, Melissa - why girl? She has great hair, gorgeous eyes, cute face, and I've seen her in some things that really suit her atypical Hollywood figure. This is not one of them.

What? She has *never* been very curvy. Her natural body type is a little tiny thing. Always has been.

Nope. Look at her early days on Live.

Yep. I have. The only time in her life she looked even a little curvier was when she was pregnant. She is naturally tiny.

I posted the above -- it was a top 5 look from the awards for me. But then Wunmi went and wore the below to the Vanity Fair party, which I also love, and also just love them next to each other. She totally won the night for me.

Ugh! I hate both of these.

I do too. These are two of the worst dresses of the night.

Why?

It's hard to do maternity on the red carpet and these both seem to nail it -- great colors, textures, they fit well, there's some drama. Seems like she nailed it.

DP. I agree with the PP. The first sequined dress is just plain ugly in every way. The second one is a pretty color but so over the top as to look silly. Bad choices.

I agree that many of these women are naturally thin (since that is highly correlated with success in the industry to start with). I’ll also point out that I know so many women that developed auto immune type GI problems in their 40s or 50s where eating gluten, dairy, fat gives them explosive diarrhea/gas. (So no, they aren’t faking it.). My sister used to be two sizes larger than me but is now 2 sizes smaller because she can’t eat really anything tasty. She lives on meat, fish. eggs, brown rice, nuts and vegetables and has not a stitch of fat on her. She’s super healthy but it’s a major pain to plan shared meals with her on vacation.

Agreed. Stunning lady but Louis Vuitton did not do her any favors.

You are both high.
