Should financial aid in private school be stricter?

Yes, saying that financial aid for low income families is trolling.

For the troll parents that want to say that is false choice. Yes you could donate 50 cents to low income families and 50 cents to middle income families. The question is which donation is more impactful. My point is that if you don’t subsidize middle income families, those kids will be perfectly fine.

Absolutely. In my mind, if you live in Westmoreland Hills or Somerset for example- and your public schools are great - why do you think that your kids are entitled to a private school education that you can’t pay for??? Financial aid should be for kids whose lives are going to be changed by the education it makes possible for them. Not for kids whose parents made poor financial decisions in their quest to keep up with the Joneses.

Couldn’t agree more.

Most people who get financial aid don’t live in those areas. At least at our school most of the people on aid are feds, fed contractors, single moms, teachers, administrators etc. Rarely are they living in a multi million dollar home with only one child in private. It’s those who live further away or not in the fancier areas that receive it.

On here people consider themselves middle class when their HHI is $200-1 million+ and they live in expensive houses.

Those are the ones that receive financial aid.

Which is why some have an issue with it. That's not low income or deserving.
Your hyperbole is astonishing. You call anyone calling you out on your biases a troll, but you are asserting that people with a HHI of 200k-1M are receiving aid. Do you even know the definition of HHI?

Check schools stats on financial aid.

I have, its pretty surprising at that level kids get aid.

"saying that financial aid for low income families" is factually incorrect. Financial aid is for whomever the school decides to give it to. It is a private institution.

I have more problems with Trump giving executive orders to cancel DEI in profitable public companies that just so happen to be federal contractors. Similar to private schools, they should be allowed to do whatever they want with their internal programs.

Stop telling other people what to do with their money.

Private schools, as well as donors, can do whatever they want.

You sound delusional telling us where our donations should go. Focus on yourself.

Sure! Continue subsidizing upper middle class families so they can continue their trips to Europe.

Sure. I also think it’s ok to say that financial aid is not going to families in need. I don’t see anything wrong in having full disclosure.

Good for you! Ask other middle class families that are near the cutoff of financial aid what do they think. Probably they are going to be as happy as you.

Toxic parent from a private school that gets upset about providing aid to low income families ☝️.
