No, it’s not misleading. If you think our economic interests in the oil fields of KSA would have been sufficient to summon the contempt and disdain that led to 9/11, you are simply wrong on the facts. The emotional root of any anti-Western sentiment in the region is and always has been the result of our blind, unconditional, and corrupt support of Israel and its policies and actions. Do you seriously believe that our system of rotating only Jewish interlocutors and dyed-in-the-wool radical, extremist Zionists to represent the U.S. in the region for the past however many decades is lost on those people? They can do math. FFS, they invented or co-invented nearly all of the math underlying our entire civilization! Let’s see. Endless conflict. One-sided slaughters underwritten by the U.S. for decades. And when we want to pretend that we are actually honest brokers, we magically pluck from our diplomatic roster someone who happens to have a dog in the fight. 2% of the goddamned population, but apparently nobody else is better suited for the job? GTFOH. Support for Israel has led to thousands of dead Americans in OEF and OIF, tens of thousands more with lifelong injuries, as well as hundreds of thousands of dead in Afghanistan and Iraq. Enough already. |
I think the general public vastly underestimates just how costly it is to be an ally of Israel. It's not just the more than 300 billion dollars of aid that we send, but also the trillions of dollars and millions of lives lost as a result of conflicts they have dragged us into. In 1996 with Netanyahu, who wrote a book called Fighting Terrorism. Professor Jeffrey Sachs concisely summarizes the premise of the book: "The thesis of the book is quite straightforward and very dangerous. He says, you know, there’s Hamas, there’s Hezbollah, they oppose Israel. It’s not good for us to fight them directly — that won’t work. What we need to do is topple the governments that back them. So what we need is regime change throughout the Middle East. And he actually gave a long list of seven countries that included Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, and Lebanon. And systematically, the United States has done Netanyahu’s bidding for almost 30 years now, going to war with every one of them — except for the big one that Netanyahu so much longs for, which is the war directly between the United States and Iran." |

Simplistic and obviously partisan analysis. Again, read bin Laden’s own words. Oh, and pls elaborate on how US support for Israel explains the Iran-Iraq war, Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait, Isis, and, while you’re at it, Charlie Hebdo and Rushdie. Israel is certainly a problem for the region, but it’s hardly the sole cause of instability, conflict, or hatred for America. |
Lol … are you OK? None of what you mentioned actually involved acts or events in furtherance of “hatred of America”. Iran - Iraq war? You think that conflict was evidence of “hatred of America” that had nothing to do with Israel? Iraq’s Kuwait invasion? That invasion was evidence of “hatred of America” that had nothing to do with Israel? ISIS … ? Oh, you mean the clumsy “Israel trues to train and fund militants to produce regime change because the U.S. isn’t moving quickly enough” caper? Charlie Hebdo? What did that attack (which, in fairness, was done in response to provocative content, so it’s not like we don’t know what instigated it) have to do with the “hatred of the U.S.”? Rushdie? Same as Hebdo - what do the provocative writings of a British national have to do with “hatred of the U.S.”? You’re really terrible at trying to pretend that you’re not here to repel criticisms of Israel. Pick another hobby. |
Not surprisingly, you missed the point in its entirety. Reconsider. |
I’ll consider that a genocide denier’s capitulation and call it a day. |
Obviously. No one with at least half a brain is suggesting Israel is the sole cause of hatred towards the most powerful country in the world. Israel is the sole cause of hatred toward Israel just as Hamas is the sole cause of hatred toward Hamas. People simply don't like people who murder innocent people. |
Sure. Right. Checks out. 🙄 We are incessantly bombarded with radical, extremist Zionists lecturing everyone that we MUST remember that they have been in conflict with literally every other group of people that they have ever encountered, but that they are never, ever the cause of these conflicts. Even though their fairytale holy texts clearly say otherwise. Therefore, we must have less than 1/2 a brain unless we believe the radical, extremist Zionist argument that conflict magically finds these people through no fault of their own, and that we need to ignore our lying eyes, the never ending bellicosity of Israel (which claims to represent them as their homeland), and the fact that linking our fortunes to them has now magically brought on a lot of the same hostilities that they describe as essential to their lore? Yeah … GTFOH. Humanity is naturally drawn to conflict, it seems, but damn if one particular group - again, using their own words - is uniquely unable to find detente … ever. By the way, nobody argued that blind, unconditional support was “the sole cause”, but if you want to hang your hat on apportionment of blame or responsibility, how about 88%? |
Knesset member Tzippy Scott: "Tonight we killed 100 Palestinians in Gaza, and no one in the world seems to care, " hinting at the impunity with which Israel conducts its genocidal war on Gaza.
The remarks came at a time when US President Donald Trump wrapped up his visit to the Middle East and Israel has ramped up its military operations in Gaza, killing at least 378 Palestinians in just five days. |
Exactly. No decent person supports Zionists or Hamas. We must support all innocent people of the world. Through love and peace, we will become a better world. |
