Become a nurse if you want to, nobody told you to be a lumber jack. It's only 5000 death a year, btw. If you put child birth death and killed by H/boyfriend in the mix it's about the same. |
Your womb is designed specifically to respond to the sperm of a man. The functioning of your womb literally relies on male sperm. Men can do everything they do with or without your womb. |
Actually 2021 had a record high of new companies started. |
They can be a father without her womb? |
And yet fields like nursing, home health aides, teachers, and childcare are all dominated by women. Jobs where you have to be on your feet all day, where you are regularly exposed to bodily fluids and illness. Is being a nurse in a hospital "cushier" than being a garbage man? Is being a kindergarten teacher "easier" than being a plumber? Also I know women who have wanted to pursue jobs that would enable them to work outside, work with their hands, etc. -- working on construction sites or as a plumber or electrician, or working in forestry or fishing. But these industries are extremely hard for women to break into because of sexist ideas about what women are capable of. If you are a woman in one of these fields, you pretty much have to accept that you will experience forms of harassment or hostile work environment, and many women ultimately decide they don't want to deal with that. The men who go into these fields don't have to think about that. |
There are not really any major biological functions of a man’s body that require a woman. A woman cannot become pregnant without a man. What a stupid argument to begin with but if the pp really insists on measuring “value” like a farm animal then the (ridiculous) argument fails to support her own bias. |
You know someone has no good response when they pull out the tired "ChatGPT" line. SMH. |
Complete nonsense that men who pursue teaching or nursing or other traditionally female-centric careers don’t face hostile work environments or harassment. Even a simple search of DCUM will result in more than a few posts explaining why men who want to be preschool teachers for example are inherently suspicious. |
I disagree. I think it’s 3 forces: (1) hurt people lashing out in anger rather with more consideration for themselves than the future, (2) scared people wanting to make sure to get a piece of the pie, (3) righteous people who believe that there’s some sort of way of making the world fair if only you make sure every hurt can be somehow avenged and (4) politicians. However you cut it, the kind, brave and generous are not stoking this fight. |

It is never helpful to rely on sweeping generalizations and harmful stereotypes when talking about societal issues. |
DP. The comment you are replying to did not say anything about “kind, brave and generous” they said “currently powerful”. The kindest, bravest and most generous people that I know are broke and powerless. |
Now THAT ^ is logically fallacious. |
Men are weak. The End. |
You’re telling on yourself with your rant about “wokeness,” so I know you’re allergic to facts. There is tons of data going back years about this, but how about most recently from Yale (I understand I’m likely wasting my time since illiteracy is a virtue for Trump bootlickers): https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/why-its-harder-for-women-founders-to-get-venture-capital-funding |
