I just read this and I am not sure there is an eye roll emoji that can accurately reflect how ridiculous this article is. A focus group of 12 men who voted for Trump. I admit I am a 40-something woman, with sisters and daughters so I probably have less opportunity to see this, but I struggle to believe that men are feeling like they don’t have a place in society. They OWN society. What is the deal with this whining? Even the comments about how they feel like chivalry is gone because women give them a dirty look if they hold a door. It is BASIC courtesy. And since when are men worried about getting a dirty look?

Can anyone explain this to me?

They used to own society. Now women own something like 2% and they are seething about it. It's no surprise coming from trumpers though lol. White men are the biggest victims of the 21st century

The thread on gay men proves this. If you're used to being handed everything in life (straight men) and suddenly you have to work for things, you get mad. If you haven't had everything handed to you in life, you're benefiting now that societal values have shifted.

Have you ever met a man? A straight man? Why would you think they were used to that?

Are you really trying to argue that life in general isn't easier for a straight man than a woman or gay man? You are delusional if you think it's not.

But, obviously, we are trapped living in a misogynistic, bigoted, sexist, patriarchal, phallo-centric, male-dominated, discriminatory hell-hole here in 2025’s America!

Everybody knows that, amirite?

Mad because society has started to value competence and excellence over gender/race/physical appearance/stereotypes of what kind of people should be in what roles in society.

How old are you? Just curious.

Old enough to remember when stereotypes held women and minorities back from certain careers, leadership roles, etc. Young enough to appreciate society's evolution.

Ah. At first I thought you were 20. Now I see that you are 80. Well, glad you have men all figured out. You should go tell them, straighten them out. Since some of them seem to be struggling.

OP here… how do we stop this victimization? And are they really actually victims? I find it very hard to believe this. Is there any actual evidence of this?

Every woman in America is very deprived!

They're losers who can't stay competitive in job and dating markets unless other groups of people are tamped down. NYT owner leans conservative and doesn't care about letting it shine through sometimes because the subscriber numbers are good.

All women are the victims. Not men.

Why get in the way of karmic retribution?

Yes, that’s why they are called the “weaker sex.”

Honestly this attitude is not very attractive

Also, very against the whole conservative American "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" attitude.

I doubt the new administration will do very much for them. But, just like football, it feels good when your team wins, even if you don't tangiblely benefit from it.

But I'm sure they'll get some entertainment value from the "destroy everything" antics sure to follow.

And also, why is having to treat people with respect and equitably suddenly mean men somehow have less? I mean, it’s not appropriate to call me “gal” and assign me the office party planning and tell me I look pretty - at the office. Why can’t women be treated fairly?

I would love to hear some thoughtful responses instead of name calling.

Haven't heard this since the '90s when women overtook men in college completion rates, post grad degrees, average grades, SAT scores, etc.

I canceled and am boycotting the Washington Post and now FB too.

Looks like I have to add NYT to the banned list.
