Same for SMU and Tulane.

None went.

That was last year, sweetie.

This years Instagram page shows 2 have already committed to Tulane. And yeah, I know the kids who applied to UGA. Things are changing. Many kids don’t want to travel to the Northeast, where it’s cold and they’re going to have far-left ideals shoved down their throats.

The southern schools are simply more appealing. Good school plus fun.

Kindly read the text plastered in large type at the top of the page which says "Sidwell Friends graduating seniors in the classes of 2021-2024. This is a four year running tally.

Not a single matriculation to Georgia.

You guys! This thread made the "Most active threads" - and not in a good way. LMAO.

I take offense because I'm the one who gave you the good housing information - I hope you all got signed up early.

DCUM is nothing if not a source of humor.

It’s odd to reference two private school kids committing to Tulane (which loves mediocre full pay private school kids) in a UGA thread.

Also a “handful” implies a very small number in general that applied.

Finally, maybe 25% of Sidwell kids end up matriculating at any public university (and that’s probably high), so once more Sidwell probably isn’t a great reference point for UGA or any public university.

Who actually cares where Sidwell students matriculated? That's not a measuring stick for people.

Some of my DC's friends is only looking at schools smaller than 5K. Mine won't look at any smaller than 20K. People chose their schools for reasons other than where kids from 1 private school attend.

I so appreciate that you did! My DD got on bright and early yesterday as per your advice. Not sure she will go there but it's her first acceptance so thought it would be a good idea to be on the safe side. Thank you!

How do kids get to UGA? Fly to ATL and Uber?

Fly to Atlanta, and then Uber, take the Groome shuttle that leaves almost every hour (both ways) or get a private company (several based in Athens). If kid has car at school, they park at airport.

Or fly to Greenville SC - longer distance but no airport from hell and traffic is much better. Limited flights, though

We paid for housing as well- thanks PP!
