APS School Board Chair Drama

Congrats to Mary for her chairperson ship. May APS have a better 2024-25 school year with her true leadership.

No what had to happen was a community outcry. That happened. Then the scheme collapsed.

I honestly think it could have all been avoided without the drama. Mary just needed to assert herself, say something to her colleagues, post her message without even hinting what was going on and then leave the others to potentially embarrass themselves if they tried this stunt.

I talked a few people “in the know” and it was pretty clear that they wanted the community outcry/people writing emails because they themselves still had to work with the rest of the board and didn’t want to face the ire themselves. They wrote zero emails and enjoyed the show.

Oh wow. Makes sense now how downright mean they were to people who had the gall to question why they knew so much and why all of us should have done their bidding. They wanted others to do the dirty work for them eh?

Glad I’m not so gullible and did not fall for it. Thankfully Mary saved herself instead. Makes me respect the AEM OP because she put herself on the line for all of the others.

This right here is typical Arlington.

The only people I saw being mean were the ones who said Mary looked bad somehow and who insisted this was made up.

You people are so funny! Bow that it's fixed - by others and no thanks to you- you think you know better about how it should have been handled. Armchair politicos. Classic DCUM.

DCUM is just here to complain. No one worth knowing pays no attention to it.

Hey pot, meet kettle!

Letting others take the political hit to keep your own hands clean is beyond the pale. If that was you, shame. I’ll even tell Mary how this drama played out that the next time I see her. She’d be embarrassed for herself and you.

Like you know how it played out??? hahahahahha, so funny. You are so full of yourself I can't even. Go right ahead!

The people who should be embarrassed and shamed are Cristina and her supporters. It sounds like we found one, and she's trying to shame the parents who supported Mary. So weird.

Please. Cristina has no supporters. At least not anymore. Mary solved the problem that she should have solved in the first place. Now a whole bunch of unwitting parents got caught in it and now have 3-4 board members who think less of them now.

I’m only judging those who went hard on others, but who didn’t lift a finger themselves knowing what it would cost them. And yes, I promise to tell Mary about it!!!

Hilarious that you think you somehow have more info than Mary after sitting this one out and watching it play out as a bystander. But sure tell her what you think you know from watching it on social media. You are too funny. I'm sure she'll be amused.

No one was hard on others except those of you who questioned and belittled those of us who were actively supporting Mary. Your revisionist history that that you were proved wrong is hilarious.

Mary knows who supported her and who did not.

I'm confused. Let's say I wrote a letter to the school board saying I like Mary Kadera and voted for her on the (reasonable) belief that she'd get her turn as chair, and asked the board to either squash the rumors or state why they don't think Mary can or should do the job. That seems like a pretty normal email to send to an elected official. Are the last couple of posters claiming that 3-4 school board members will now think less of me for writing that email?

Yes, that's what they are saying. But pay them no heed. They are unhinged, and you are more than fine. These are probably the same people (or maybe just one person?) who claimed this was made up a few pages ago. Now that they were proved 100 percent wrong, they have moved on to another even weirder theory. Some people will do anything to feel self-important.

Who are you assuming didn't lift a finger? It's obvious YOU didn't lift a finger but you have no idea what others did.

So nice try now trying to justify whatever you didn't do and why.

I don’t understand how this is a problem. Elected officials work for us, not the other way around.
