Agreed. I think they knew early it wasn't a good match early on but tired to work it out for the kids. They love each other but aren't in love with each other. Loads of parents end up like this.

I’m not sure Ben Affleck loves Jennifer Garner. Here’s what he said about being married to her:

"I'd probably still be drinking. It's part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped," the Argo director admitted to Howard Stern of feeling unhappy in his marriage to Garner, 49. "I was like 'I can't leave 'cause of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution."

I think he has just learned over time that he can be very disrespectful of Jennifer Garner and she takes it.

I don't think that is disrespectful. He was talking about himself. He was feeling trapped in an unhappy marriage. There are hundreds of posts and relationships where that happens. He didn't want to leave because of the kid and so drank to cope. He doesn't say anything about her at all.

Whoever posted about that Indestructible PR podcast-- that lady nailed it. She talked about this interview extensively. This is very much addict-speak. Always blaming things outside yourself rather than yourself. She talked about the difference between being dry vs being sober, and Ben is dry. He may not be drinking but his actions and words are very much that of an addict.

The podcast was from February and she predicted that Ben and JLo were headed for divorce based on the things (like this) that each of them were saying in the press.

Your post sounds like an addict is some terrible character flaw and that for the rest of that person's life his/her words are reflective of an addict whether drinking or not?

DP here. Yes, it's a terrible flaw and almost impossible to ever fully overcome. I come from a family with addicts and I would never marry an addict and I would do everything possible to prevent my kids from becoming or marrying addicts. It's never fully in the past. There's literally not one addict I've ever met who has been able to transcend the behaviors of an addict and behave like a non-addict. At a certain age, I tell each of my kids about the addiction issues in our family and explain to them how it works. Our family inherited a predisposition to deal with stress the addict way. It's a mindset that's far more than the act of drinking or doing drugs. It's a lifelong lesson for me to teach myself and my kids better ways to manage challenges and stress.

It's the worst flaw in my family and it never fully goes away. Ben Affleck is an addict and it's a terrible flaw. I hope Jen Garner and her kids go to Al-Anon to get help dealing with it. You don't just accidentally pick an addict.

I get PP's confusion because in her Instagram post about the graduation, JG had a photo of herself on a plane. It does strike me as weird that she'd be flying somewhere else in the days before the graduation, but for all we know she was flying from a commitment in Napa or something. Plus she's very wealthy and divorced, so maybe the kids were with Ben while she went somewhere.

Relationship for PR of the movie they did together. Not sure it hit the theaters and she refused to promote it with Ben.
