How do you know they're regular rec teams? Which age group?

Some are obvious, some are a guess. My son is playing on the CYA U14 All Star team. His bracket are 4 teams that clearly play as rec teams in NCSL league and a random team from a tiny west virginia rec league.

Where are the other All Star teams in this "All Star" tournament. CYA charged us an "all star fee" and made us buy an "all star" shirt.

I would be pissed about having to buy a new all star jersey. if they are just playing regular ol' rec teams, they should be able to wear their regular ol' jersey.

Why didn't they make separate brackets for the all star teams and the regular rec teams?

Because there wasn't enough interest I'm assuming so they don't have enough all-star teams.

It's an interesting format my kids age bracket with 7 teams. 3 of the teams are only guaranteed 3 games, while the other 4 teams will have 4 games.

This is the most pathetic list of participants I have ever seen in an all star tournament. If you win this tournament CYA or SYA don’t be proud at all. You should have played in a legit tournament. Have some shame integrity and throw those racist sombrero medals in the trash in the field. You won nothing to be proud of, but you can show pride by letting them know what you think of their crappy game.

Wow.... These are rec kids i would say 99% have no idea the toxic content of boards like this. There are kids out there that just want to play and have some extra fun at the end of a season. Having a team full of the kids that want to be there is more than they get all season. The choice was play or don't.

Usually in real tournaments, the teams with 3 games have a 4th championship game.

Some of the divisions are going to be decided on points which is tedious and annoying. Win a game at 11 am and then have to wait around for four hours to be awards the trophies? (Hopefully they got trophies this year like a real tournament and not those nasty plastic medals.)

My dc's weak lower level rec team is apparently in this tournament!? That's a surprise. Our coach who is a really young kid told us it was NOT an All Star tournament and was part of the NCSL Rec league season.

Then Southwestern Youth Association sent out a link to the schedule and it literally says "All Star Tournament". Did the people who run our rec league or the people in charge of this tournament lie to this young coach to trick him into agreeing to participate? What the h?

Are any of these teams real all star teams? My dc's team did NOT win one game all season.

We are new to the area and don't understand why the regular rec season didn't have a regular rec tournament at the end. Every other rec soccer league my kid has played in has done this.

When they had missing ages last year it was because they were desperately beating the bushes to get up to 4 whole teams for a combined multiple age bracket.
