This team played in my son's age group (U12). Our team was crushed by them in the final game but it was no surprise to anyone as the PR kids were incredible and clearly a high level team that played together year round. PS- Can confirm (1) no free churros and (2) medals were absolutely FUGLY. We were laughing about how awful they were. "50 cent trinket from South of the Border" is spot on. Not sure if it's one guy in charge with really bad taste that no one wants to gainsay or a bunch of old guys with bad taste, but man. I would honestly be embarrassed to have that in my house. What were they thinking with this whole theme?

Your coach complained about travel teams being in a rec tournament!?!? Let me guess… you’re a CYA team? I’m sick of hearing about loser coaches that can’t handle a loss with sportsmanship in these all star tournaments. Get this through your head CYA … travel teams do not waste time in our rec all stars. Stop filing meaningless complaints because you’re sore that a better team beat you.

Yet they sort of do. When my daughter was with Herndon. The U-8 all star tournament had loudoun pre-travel teams these girls played together all year and showed up to play REC kids. It was not fun at all.

You can add the label "pre-travel" all you like but that's still a rec team. And if you filed a complaint like CYA did against another rec team because they know how to run their organization better and train their kids better, then you are a loser like that CYA coach that filed a complaint.

I didn't file a complaint and pre-travel is not equivalent to a slapped together rec Team. They have "real" coaches and play against other pre-travel teams in their seasons. When my daughter's

All Rec orgs have the same opportunity to do what Loudoun soccer does. You can either put together a solid all star team to go up against them (and stop putting in your kids and their friends) and compete with some integrity... or in your case you can act like a coward and run away, file a complaint and whine.

My DCs play for Loudoun soccer and we have always had a strong presence in tournaments. We have a bigger population that allows for better teams to be placed in all star tournament. In fact, we usually have more than one team going per age group. Its simple to understand that when you have more players to choose from you will have stronger teams.

Agree with this, LS first teams are always very good. They should be entered into tournaments with multiple brackets. It is disingenous for LS to charge such a high fee for all stars and then put them in this crappy Valor tournament with no levels. Its a waste of time for the LS teams.

The Valor tournament is a waste of time for LS. And then the LS kids and parents have to deal with sore losers like the PP from HYS or CYA or whatever he was pretending to be.

The truth is that LS runs a great program from rec to travel to ECNL. And for whatever sad reason Valor managed to hitch a ride to LS on ECNL so now LS is obligated to play in this lame joke of a tournament that they will crush and then have to listen to all the losers tell them they are cheating when in fact all they do is play soccer better. PP mentioned that “it kids soccer”… well doesn’t that apply to LS kids too? Remember they’re just 9-12 years old too and to have all you grown men accusing them of cheating is pretty low.

The reason LS does so well at the rec tournaments is because the teams are formed through tryouts and selected by travel coaches. The send the best possible team of kids each year versus sending the rec team with the best record for the year. Some allstar kids play together during the rec season but as an entire team, they only practice together 6 times before the tournament. Most of the time the kids are the same from season to season until they eventually move up to travel. LS has been doing it this way since my kids started playing in 2021, can't speak to anything before that.

It looks like they couldn't get *any* SFL age All Star teams to sign up besides poor SYA and poor CYA so their All Star teams are just playing regular rec teams. Not even enough All Star teams for a four team bracket. That's lame AF.

How do you know they're regular rec teams? Which age group?
