Stars and Pride weren’t in the top 4 being discussed. M&D and some other club I assume. Stars and Pride are maybe top 10 of only considering Maryland clubs. |
The 4 discussed were:
Hero's M&D Capital Skywalkers |
Recent posts on this thread are very boring. |
Agree with this. So people checking in after the holidays and working from the most recent page don't have to read backwards: --The thread rehashed the tired topics of speculating about who will try out, and how to make Capital. In addition to the normal wondering about whether local girls from MD teams will try out for Capital, another hackneyed topic popped up. The folks aggressively positioning by doing clinics, HB, switching to Stars, American Select, etc, extensively restated their sanguine superiority, suggesting that no one else should even bother to try out. They added a new concept of "working the room" in advance of tryouts. (There is no "room", of course.). Blah, blah, blah. As far as I am concerned, this is all overwrought and unnecessary. Lot of lacrosse to play this Spring and summer. Outstanding players who show up for tryouts will make it. Capital is about putting together the best team and their ranking and recruiting success demonstrate that. --For some reason, the thread also continues to talk about the big MD clubs and one poster even rehashed their rankings the past several years along with Capital. Then speculated that they must have done well at recruiting. For those wondering, yes they did--almost all players on M&D, Hero's, Capital And Sky Walkers are committed to play D1. In general people seem bored and are revisiting old topics or trying to stir the pot with trolling about who can or can't make Capital. Lucking St James winter league, Capital Winter Clinics, and Indoor Nationals are right around the corner. So hopefully things will improve soon. |
Pride is not going to indoor nationals, so the only chatter there will be if stars supposed super team can pull off some big wins. STJ Winter league will be talking about which JV teams stars or Pride beat up on, so not much to discuss there either. |
Both better and more relevant topics than the last several pages. |
When facts disrupt the Balto narrative … and then all they have is “get a life” |
Those points are not mutually exclusive. Those CAN be great MS clubs AND their players CAN want to leave for Capital, too. Why would anyone stay at Pride and Stars when the HS recruiting performance of those clubs isn’t proven, when Capital’s is? Pretty simple: if you have a shot at, and make, Capital — you take it. |
Yes |
Anyone who thinks SkyWalkers is still a great club has lost the plot. |
They are still a great club but are not a complete club like their Hero's and M&D counterparts, but they do strengthen in HS because of their recruiting history. 27s are a good example of that. |
Skywalkers will rebound. Like Capital, it has a proven HS track record for getting it’s kids recruited by high-level programs. Curious to see if the ‘28 Coppermine team sticks together? |
Given Coppermines lack of recruiting, I expect many will leave for the other 3 top Maryland clubs very soon. I am sure they are currently plotting which girls are going where so relationships and friendships remain intact. |
I don't think they will lose as many as people think they will. Coppermine may not have the most glorified history, as compared to others, but a top 2 team in the country is a top 2 team in the country. Top college coaches will be on their sideline regardless of the name on the front of the jersey. They also do have a solid history with some good D1 commits. |
Curious about this. Up to what rankings do college coaches stop watching teams? Is it 25 or 50? Or some number in between? |
