Could be legacy or donor? All private school admissions are usually hooked right |
You obviously don’t know what a hook is |
Whatever. If you look at the colleges for the Big 3 (or 5), you see a lot of non-Top 20 and 25. The point is the BIM does really well for college admissions, and is certainly up there per capita with the top privates in the area. |

Do people really think going to a "Big3" guarantees admission to a t25 college or university?
I mean, maybe Andover 20 years ago, but at this point, and particularly post COVD, it simply isn't possible. Add to it, a lot of kids want a different collegiate experience from their "big3" type high school experience. That is why you see a lot of schools like Clemson, Boulder, Pitt etc on the matriculation lists. |
No, because Basis matriculations look better than most of the other schools listed. |
Oh, it’s whatever now? The issue isn’t the presence of lots of non-Top 20 and 25 colleges, it’s that someone came on here (you?) bragging about BIM’s impressive results at Top-20 colleges. The truth is that there are only 3 Basis students heading to Ivies (based only on Instagram postings). Unless there are 5 BIM graduates this year, that number is hardly impressive. Of course the Big 3/5/7 also have lots of students heading to non-Top 20 colleges. That’s not what the original post was about though… |
How many graduating seniors does BIM have, on average? |
| God I love how triggered all of the Potomac, Madeira, etc. parents get whenever BIM Asks s mentioned. “But wait, my old money white bread privilege can’t get me what it used to?” |
Basis matriculations look better than which specific “Big 3” schools? I’ll wait. If you’re referring to Potomac, Flint Hill, or Madeira…carry on. |
There goes the bs! There isn’t even a link for Flint Hill matriculations. They weren’t even in the conversation. To me however, they are more impressive than Potomac’s and just as good as Madeira’s at least. |
These links are ridiculous. The Potomac one is from ‘22 and is not the real/main one from ‘22 that had multiple Harvard, Princeton, etc. |
Doesn’t matter where you go when you’re rich, connected, and have an elite private k-12 education. Clemson and Michigan aren’t the same experience for these kids. The big 3 kid gets into an elite sorority or fraternity proles can’t get into, only mixes with rich peers, cruises to graduation with a 3.9 gpa, and lands a cushy six figure job with a rich connection (if they don’t go to med or law school). |
Isn’t the same true for kids that go to Potomac, Bullis, and the 2nd tier schools that cost 50,000 per year? |
People have truly become unhinged! You are even looking down on the Ivies, inferring that Cornell isn’t impressive?!?!!! Not only is that not factual but it indicates how deeply flawed some of you people are, both in thought and behavior. Totally nuts! |
