The insecurity of private parents and the checking of acceptances and then saying that you’re not sending your kid to private school based on the college acceptances. Classic 🤮. “ I’m sending my child here because it’s small and they will get a lot of personalized attention and resouces. They can’t handle the chaos of a large school.” You know you can’t protect your child forever right? I’d much rather help my child navigate the world while they’re under my roof. There must be a stat somewhere about private school kids depression rate as adults.

While you’re at it you should probably stock DMV public school pages you’d be surprised. And probably need a drink at your country club afterwards. Maybe 2!

THEY ARE PUBLIC INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS

Yes, public and you are very scary. This is not ok behavior. They are kid's Instagram pages for friends. Not cray adults.

If they’re public, they’re for the public. If the kids want them to be for their friends, then they should make them private & accept only friends.

They are public pages, not individual profiles. They could have easily made a private page if they wanted to keep it between friends.

Take a few deep breath and calm down. I say that respectfully, but you’re reacting in a very dramatic way. These are public pages for the exact purpose of people seeing schools’ college matriculations.

+1

They are specifically for the members of a class to make announcements, if they want.

Because if it’s not on social media, it didn’t happen.

The strong publics MCPS and FCPS seem comparable to the privates. One big difference is that many public school kids pick the strong public colleges like UMD, UVA, VT and W&M. Those kids could probably have gone to some more expensive privates.

For those of you who don't have a kid at a school and are not considering it at all, why are you interested in looking?
I totally get parents of younger kids at the school checking or people who might consider switching to the school based on results looking. I honestly just don't understand a random adult's interest.

This is a private school forum. I have a kid in public trying to decide if I should switch my happy smart kid to a private. I’m not sure if I’m sold yet. I absolutely care about college outcomes.

That is the demo of who is looking.
