| At our MCPS elementary there was one GDS/Sidwell admit (child had siblings attend both), one WES admit, several GDS/Sidwell waitlists, and one NCS waitlist, that I'm aware of. |
No Sidwell regrets? |
Any choosing to stay at pubic instead even with an offer? |
| For HS we personally know of at least one, possibly two, for magnets. I think every year you'll get a group of kids like this. |
Is the decision timing in alignment with the privates? |
| Is this now the week in which the schools admissions will start notifying parents on the waitlist of the available spots? I mean starting today? |
|
Is your questions for a Catholic school with the notification and decision deadline of last week?
While the waitlists might move marginally for the very large Catholics (Gonzaga, SJC, OLGC), they rarely move for most of the independents. For most schools in Washington, waitlist can be equated to a polite “no” and your plans should assume that. |
There are a few schools that actually send rejection letters. (For example Sidwell." |
Have you heard anything? |
Nope. Not expecting to. |
Have they been communicative in any way whatsoever since the decisions posted?? |
No, no responses. |
| "Reveal." Sounds like a game show. |
The decisions for these privates are "revealed" at about the same time in an app/webspace in the same portal. (All decisions - accepted, rejected/regrets, waitlist/wait-pools) |
