I will send you ACTUAL MCPS data unlike your nonstop reference to mass shootings that didn't even take place here. |
Exactly, since every credible study concludes that they almost never improve matters and more often subject kids to greater risk. |
I actually haven't seen any MCPS data on here that shows that. DO you know what data is? |
MCPS used data that showed SROs can help reduce violent crime in schools. |
I know. It's easy to understand if you look at facts like this that they don't work. I think some people just want to make public schools into prisons. |
I still don't know whether there is or isn't actual MCPS data. Some posts say there is, some posts say there would have been but the study was nefariously stopped, some posts say there isn't. |
Oh no, it was the exact opposite. That's why they got rid of them. |
Some people have a lot of faith in the effectiveness of punishment. (I am not one of those people.) |
Keep deflecting. You don't care about kids. You care about yourself and the status quo. You should leave MCPS. |
oh no, they showed studies that showed it was effective in some districts, but MCPS never got to complete their own study because Elrich pulled the plug. It's been discussed numerous times. Google it. |
So what should we have faith in? The lack of punishment is giving us the miserable current state. If not punishment to deter bad behavior, then what are you advocating in its place? And how are you considering the need to shield other students and staff from the harmful effects of those who behave badly in school environments? |
BOE memo showed studies from other school districts, and recommended MCPS do their own study. They were in the process of getting feedback via surveys and such, but Elrich pulled the plug before they could even get the studies off the ground. Elrich did not care about a study; Principals wanted to keep SROs. He caters to progressive liberals with their own agenda who don't want to hear anything that might contradict their agenda. |
OK. I will sign. Make the petition. |
There are no studies showing it’s effective you are lying. |
For the millionth time, MCPS did not get rid of SROs. They were evaluating and studying the impact of SROs when Elrich (and Jawando) Jumped the gun and pulled SROs unilaterally, which took the decision out of the school board and district's hands. |
