Agreed. I understand there are people who use it as an attention platform but those are people who would use almost any opportunity to do so. I follow some great accounts of friends and non friends who have interesting, inspiring, colorful travel posts that I love seeing. |
I like seeing ppl's travel pics. One of my acquaintances on SM is an English teacher and she writes about her daily experiences with so much verve and vivid details that it's transporting to follow along.
I also like beautiful sceneries accompanied by down to earth text that give them context. My cousin travels extensively and likes to share hidden gems and off the beaten path finds. Those are always enjoyable to see. Things I don't care for are excessive pictures of luxury accommodations and fancy meals/drinks. In these cases I think the posters do it simply for showing off. Feels inauthentic. One childhood friend does this a lot, often to a group where most of the members are way below her wealth level. |
