I have never believed in violence but this has changed my mind.

What violence do you believe in now?

Um, the violence against pigs? This seems obvious.

I just don’t understand why congress has never passed a law saying abortion is legal. Why leave it to the Supreme Court?

I can’t muster outrage— anyone else? I mean Congress could pass a law dealing with this. They had 50 years. This is on Congress. Also, abortion has been basically illegal in Texas since September. Where are the stories of coat hangers and women dying and rape victims giving birth? I haven’t read any. Maybe this won’t be so bad. Maybe (gasp) most people are actually fine with this or they’ll figure out how to go to California or New York if they need to. The lack of Texas horror stories is telling. Maybe this isn’t the emergency liberals scream about. Makes you think.

I hope they do overturn Roe v Wade. I don't think republicans have kept up with advances in genetic testing.

Be prepared to pay for child support for 18 years.

Plus more wives will die, if they have medical problems in childbirth. It's like they don't care or don't think it will happen to them.

To make us all aware of this outrageous decision.

Outrageous to whom?

To a majority of Americans who support access to abortion, that's who.

You think all those people will be outraged? I support legal abortion early prior to certain developments in the nervous system. Despite my belief that early abortions should be legal, I won't be outraged if Roe is overturned

Well if you are male, don't be outraged if you don't get any more sex from females. And if you are female, stand up for your

This i think is the more practical reality - rather than people claiming that abortion will mean Dems win midterms.

I think that a lot of Dems are disgruntled or detached for various reasons. And even if abortion isn't close to their top issue, this might wake people up and remind them the stakes involved.

How about when women lose the right to access but thy control? When fat marriage rights are overturned? When homosexual sex is criminalized again? Because all of those things are very much on the table after Roe is overturned.

If this country operated correctly the Democrats would have made bought and paid for justices an issue decades ago.

The Supreme Court has officially become a joke. I, like a gazillion other people on here, went to law school. I loved appellate practice and procedure, participated in moot court competitions all over the country and I loved it. I though a career in appellate law was where I wanted to be. It's kind of sickening to come to the conclusion that people that were held up as models of fairness, intellect, and measured jurisprudence are really just partisan hacks.

The Court should be expanded and heavily reformed.

Another lawyer here and I couldn't agree more. Sickening is right.

SCOTUS is just an unelected and unaccountable right wing religious council. It has been like this for years and everyone who covers the court knows this. No way will SCOTUS be reformed with moderate dems protecting them.

Oh please do share when “moderate dems” “protected them” in a situation when it would’ve made a difference. Because tonight I have effing had it with all of the people in my life who spend all of their time b!!ching about “moderate dems” and keep strangely quiet about how monstrous Republicans are.

If Congress passed this law, then in 2 or 4 or 8 years, it would be overturned.

The Supreme Court was a good solution. Now we need a better one. It took a few years, but we solved the problem of Prohibition. We can solve this too.

In a lot of polls on abortion women and men express similar opinions - or women are slightly more anti-abortion.

Ummm..so if congress passes that law - what will SCOTUS do to it?

I’m not really asking you, bc you are dumb. I will tell you - educate you. This SCOTUS will strike it down.

Now what?

Anyhow, if what I just predicted comes to pass - and I assure you that SCOTUS will strike it down (not 100% sure the law passes). Then..when that happens. Remember this post. And never be this uninformed again while opening your mouth.

This will only affect poor women, especially those of color.

You missed the stories of the Oklahoma clinics overrun by Texans? Up until Oklahoma recently outlawed abortion, that is.
