Johnny Depp trial in Fairfax County

I'm a very expressive writer. After the unfortunate words of Ms. Heard made their way into my heart and my head, those are two very opposing things. I'm on planet question mark. I don't know what was going on.

Mr. Depp, please tell the jury about your history of substance abuse.

Sure. This goes back to when I was a young boy. At the age of 4 or 5 years old, I remember vividly my mom telling me to go get the nerve pills. After a few years, you notice, she seemed to calm down after taking them, so when I was 11 years old, I wanted to calm down and didn't know how to so I'd bring my mom her nerve pills and I'd take one myself to escape caring and feeling so much, and to escape the chaotic nature of what we were living through. So that was the beginning. I can't say I'm proud of that but I can say that I knew not what else to do.

I've never partied in my life. I've taken various substances over the years to numb myself of the ghosts that were still with me from my youth. This was essentially self medication, where you want to escape.

How often did you take substances over your life?
I started at age 11, started marijuana around then, and depending on who you were around, I wasn't shy to try new substances to see if that would take a bit more of the edge off. So I started at 11, and I even mentioned this in an interview to TV guide in 1989, I was asked by a journalist why I believe kids were watching a show about undercover cops, and why they should believe or trust me, I said because I tell them there's no future and there's nothing but pain the the postponing of the inevitable, that one day they're going down. I told them I had done all the drugs I was aware of by the time I was 15 years old. That doesn't mean I continued into that forest of possibilities with regard to substances. There were many years I didn't touch substances and didn't have a drink. It's never been for a party effect, it's always been to numb something inside for someone who's experienced trauma. The characterization of my quote unquote substance abuse that's been delivered by Ms. Heard is grossly embellished and I'm sorry to say, but, a lot of it is just plain false. I think I was an easy target for her to hit. Once you've trusted someone for a number of years and told them all the secrets of your life, it's easy to take that information to a point teetering on impossible, and teetering over into impossible. So I am not some maniac who needs to be high or loaded all the time, in fact from before Australia and in Australia, I have been off of alcohol for about 18 months.

The thing is, when you are that drunk or high, you often don't remember what you did or said. It seems like he's disavowing this behavior from his sober self, but he doesn't remember what he was doing anyway.

Mr. Depp, is there any substance you've every been addicted to?

Yes. Roxy codone (sp?) -- some type of opium. When I was working on Pirates 4, there was a scene where i had to grab a large gold stately gilt chair [and hurt his back throwing chair out a window].

He didn't want to get bit by the heroin snake. But before you know it that monkey is on your back. Snake and monkey working together against Johnny here.

Depp has been a well-known figure since I was a teen (way back to 21 Jump Street) and it’s very hard not to at least hope he can clean himself up and start to honestly deal with his demons instead of numbing himself to them.

Says that after he detoxed from the opiates, which he got addicted to before relationship with Heard and then detoxed from them during relationship with Heard, he never took opiates again. Hmmm.

That is NOT the real Depp. The real one is gone. When the public finds out about his disgusting horrific addictions they will hate him.
That is NOT his ex either. She's gone too.

There was something to that kiss we had in the shower for the film. So I invited her to my trailer. I put on some old blues. We had a glass of wine. And we kissed.

Ew. Ew. Ew.

In his testimony, Depp spoke about the beginning of his relationship with Heard, saying "from what I recall, what I remember, she was too good to be true."
"She was attentive, she was loving, she was smart, she was kind, she was funny, she was understanding. We had many things in common," he said.

This perfectly describes the "love bombing" that narcissists do.

In order to teach Heard about "stillness," Depp gave her the film where Bogart met Bacall and they became an item, and it wasn't lost on him that Bogart was 45 and Bacall was 17 then.

So he was totally grooming her for a relationship, and showing her what he wanted to happen. Bleargh.

Ew, grooming applies to adults preying on children. These were two adults.

Men find crazy irresistible. Lorena Bobbitt, Debra Lafave, even Susan Smith had men lining up to sleep with them.

Depp felt sorry for Whitney, Heard's sister. He always felt she missed out on something.

He did drugs with Whitney 2 or 3 times. And gave her a condo to live in for a few years. His relationship with Whitney was very very good, ha!

I don't think Heard is the one coming across as crazy and desperate here.

But it’s also true that women went crazy for Ted Bundy and any psycho famous guy in prison.
