Choosing between VDA ECNL and FCV GA

I don’t think any coach is on here touting VDA. Lots of posts made in response to Loudoun parents beating their chests anticipating a 6-0 day that did not happen and will not happen unless they play BRYC.

Can you blame them tho? Being used to getting trampled and owned on a regular basis is tough. This tiny oasis allows them to justify the money they pay Loudoun. Even if it’s just for a couple of weeks. Before they’re placed back in their mediocre spot where they belong.

VDA is simply not that good as a club overall. Neither is Loudoun or BRYC or for that matter Union or Arlington. Some age groups are good, others aren’t. I.e. in general, a “club” is irrelevant. All that matters is the combined set of players and the coach for a particular team. Everything else is bluster by those that are on this forum to denigrate others to make themselves look better, or to simply be a troll.

Oh, and then we’ll get the - all that really matters is college scholarships, then, no all that really matters is D1 scholarships, and then, no all that really matters is Power 5 D1 scholarships, and then no all that really matters is full rides to D1 Power 5 schools, and then no all that really matters is playing time at a D1 Power 5 schools, and then finally, U.S college soccer sucks and only European or “Latin” soccer is any good.

Use the lens you want to view things. There’s a common denominator: Loudoun stands out above those you mentioned as the worst combining all tangible metrics to assess a club.

I would be lying if I denied I’m anxious to see what new phony excuse you’ll use next.

There is no club in America where every age group wins the ECNL championship. Obviously each club has their powerhouses and minnows. The difference is that a club has even ONE #1 team that is the area powerhouse plus nationally competitive. Look across all age groups, you'll find who's the best in this area and clubs like BYRC are struggling. Even one very successful team can draw attention to a club. You know Loudoun, VDA, Union, and RU are doing fine across the ages and are draws. Like it or not, every club has their trolls, not just VDA and if you go back through DCUM history, VDA is very new in comparison to the Loudoun and FCV trolls.
