As a parent around all of this for a long time, VDA has always been playing catch up. They’ve tried but they aren’t in a good place now. AS may be trying his best but VDA will always be challenged in a number of ways. |
We love AS. He needs help though. He is literally coaching every team. |
Who is VDA trying to catch? |
For a long time it was FCV and McLean, now Union. Union has taken a number of steps back since then but VDA still isn’t the top club in this area. And without the historic success of their 06s, who knows what they’d be? |
And without MW bringing a number of his BRYC players at different ages, I’m sure there would be even less success across their past ages. That was a great strategic hire for on field reasons by VDA, but everybody seems to have heard how it turned out. I’m sure current VDA players would also follow him if he were hired by somebody else locally. |
For a long time, it was FCV and McLean. Now VDA isn’t chasing anybody. The 04 team that MW brought players to finished in 7th place. If not VDA, who is the top club in the area? VDA 06 has always been the best team around. They’ve had 4 different head coaches with QP and AS guiding in the background. |
Nobody would follow MW to play locally. At what ages did he bring players? 2003/04? |
| It is unlikely that FCV GA will be around much longer. I would go to VDA. I would go to VDA even if FCV was around. |
Another VDA admin post. |
AS is doing his best. He’s just coaching 6 teams. Give him a break. You go AS! |
VDA is chasing BRAVE. Nobody is leaving VDA to follow MW. Actually maybe one family will… |
Fear the Brave, VDA! |
| So can we have a summary of who plays direct ball and who plays procession style? |
no one plays possession in NOVA clubs. |
| wow so all that technical skills needed at young age are BS? Once they hit U13, they just want them to boot it to the striker? |
