So then relax until springtime. |
Exactly. There are more than 1 of us responding to you btw. My suggestion that you get therapy still stands. You're waaaaaaay to wound up about this. Get help. Your children deserve a better parent. |
And there’s more than 1 person responding to you as well. And if you are agreeing with me that things will be different come springtime why are you so upset about what I’m posting? Shouldn’t you be happy about this? I’m sure happy to live in a country that has access to incredibly effective vaccines, and I’m not sure why my optimism is so upsetting for you? It’s like celebrating any sort of positive momentum toward the end of the pandemic is met with the anxiety of those who have made this pandemic their life’s purpose or are otherwise sad to be going back to normal life (which I guess means normal life pre-pandemic wasn’t that great for them). Saying the tide is changing toward people wanting to get rid of masks once kids are vaccinated shouldn’t be a controversial statement whatsoever, but there are posters on here who are absolutely beside themselves at the suggestion of that. The people on here going off about other posters “needing therapy” and being bad parents are legit unraveling. It’s bizarre and fascinating to watch unfold. |
And there is your answer- we are all here watching each other posting because it's bizarre and fascinating to watch unfold. |
I don’t believe you. Do you leave your house? I go to the Italian store often and masking is maybe 50%. Restaurants in Shirlington were packed and no one is wearing masks except staff. We have higher mask wearing than most areas of the county but definitely not at 99%. |
My family hasn't masked since May. We go to Whole Foods in Clarendon and Harris Teeter at Lee Harrison. We also frequently indoor dine. Please say hello next time you see us.
And if it's so easy to catch COVID and spread it according to the doomers, you're only catching it once anyways (reinfections are extremely rare among non-elderly) and it's only for a few days while you're contagious. I caught it last year pre-vaccine and I was way less sick than when I had the flu (consistent with statistics, as it is for a non-obese 40 year old). FYI - every single one of you will be exposed to COVID repeatedly for the rest of your lives (it's not going away). You're simply wasting your life, delaying the inevitable (and considering the extreme age stratification, delaying it to when the virus will be even more dangerous because of your age). That's fine if you want force your own kids to live in fear even vaccinated, but our kids are getting set free from this COVID Zero nonsense as soon as this child vaccine is out. |
Sounds like your kids won't need the vaccine only a positive attitude |
Chill. Healthy humans are doing a disservice to their own natural-given immune system by allowing an unknowing experimental liquid in their bodies. I work around children and teenagers. All day. Every day. I don’t mask except for work cause otherwise I’d be fired. Traveled overseas close to 8 times since Summer 2019. Still living and breathing. the worst we’ve had was runny noses. I still feel like my immune system > god knows who’s experiment. So, no experiments for us. You do you. But don’t impose nor coerce more than you already have. Masking indoors will soon be ditched. I’d pay to see your face for that. Truly. |
+1 There are a lot of reasonable people wanting a masking "off-ramp" sometime in 2022. We do not think we should wait until 90% of the population is vaccinated because it looks like that will never happen, and we do not think we should have to wear masks for the next several years. You and your children are welcome to wear them through the years if you wish. Don't lump us in with the crazies like the 20:45 PP above. |

I am vaccinated and I would rather live mask free and catch covid than mask up for years and not catch covid once my kids are also vaccinated. How can you not understand that? Vaccinated people like that peloton guy can catch covid. They are almost always totally fine. He’s back dancing! I am willing to exchange a very small risk for normalcy. Why can’t I do that if you can wear 2 masks if you want? |
DP. Well considering the data suggests that kids are way less likely to get serious complications (although of course like the flu…not zero) that might be true. |
The problem is your poor choices impact others and you can make other people sick. |
NP here. Not sure I will care about that after the 5-11 year old set have had the chance to be vaccinated. People can be vaccinated, at-risk (and probably all at that point) can be boosted, and anyone who feels very at-risk can mask themselves with N95s. You should save your lectures for the anti-vaxxers. |
And your choice to drive a motor vehicle could cause a car accident and kill someone. SO selfish. You should stay home forever. And don’t you dare think about ordering anything online. Someone could get hit and killed by an Amazon or Uber Eats driver. You better start making your own food and goods, or else you are putting others at risk. The only solution is that we all stop living our lives completely because anything we do in life could cause risk to ourselves or others. We must keep others safe *AT ALL COSTS* because that is our duty forever and ever. Life is only worth living once there are zero risks in the world. |
