What’s going on with the two bills?

I am wondering what would happen if Youngkin wins next Tuesday. More pressure on the paasage of infrastructure bill or no impact?

Well it should have been passed on Thursday when Biden was in the air. Pelosi and Biden both met directly with the progressives and begged them to let the infrastructure vote through. Nothing.

When Youngkin wins on Tuesday - they can look sad and shocked all they want. Youngkin passed McAuliffe the day after Congress's crap.

Dem voter turnout is down in no small part because the Biden administration has done nothing for us to be excited about!

Inflation at 30 year high. Bungling our own signature infrastructure/social spending bill(s). Gas is insanely high. A supply chain logjam. Their answer to all these problems is that its "transitory." Which is code for, "it'll work itself out."

I like you Biden. I voted for you. But posting about the plans you abandoned mid-discussion while in Europe is not the way to go.

I don’t know why he is afarid of confronting the progressive. If Dems lose in Virginia and Biden’s approval rating keeps dropping, the moderate Dems will have less and less incentive to pass the social spending bill. Biden should have pushed the progressive to vote for the infrastructure bill on Thursday before losing the momentum.

The House is going to bring both bills up for vote on Tuesday.

Biden is able to get this done and represent the US at the G20 at the same time.

Democrats show competence.

He did. They ignored him because they knew he was flying out that same day.

Honestly I don't know what he was thinking? Who drops an ultimatum and leaves the country? He had to know there was no enforcing his 'mandate' when he left. He took half the damned Cabinet with him.

On Election Day for Virginia and New Jersey? While the President and half the Cabinet are out of the country? Yeah, right.

Did they forget half the Congressional staff lives in Virginia? Most of them won't even be at work - they'll be standing in line to vote or GOTV the last minute vote.

I'm guessing Congressional staff living in Virginia likely voted early.

The idea of them getting one bill, let alone both bills, to a vote on Tuesday is just laughable. They were still arguing about inclusions when Biden lifted off on Thursday. Now they're chummy with it and will vote on the busiest political day of the year?

They're just trying to stop the bad news headlines.

No one's yelled at Sinema twice today or cornered Manchin in four hours. There is no way they're ready to vote on Tuesday. They need Biden to even get a phone call through to Sinema and he's a bit busy at the moment bro-ing around with Macron.

No he didn’t.

Read this Politico article.

Immediately after the meeting with Biden, Jayapal huddled with her progressive caucus, where she told them she had urged the White House earlier not to push progressives to vote on infrastructure alone, according to people in the room.

“The president made a really compelling speech for both bills. He said he wants both bills to pass,” Jayapal told reporters after Biden’s meeting on Thursday. “He did not ask for a vote on [infrastructure] today. The speaker did, but he did not.”

Dem leaders (including Pelosi) wanted to take a vote but Biden didn’t push. Look at his tweet. He only talks about the spending bill. Instead he should have been real clear: Let’s get that damned infrastrucutre bill FIRST.

She'll lose in 2024 for the same reason Hillary did. She's unlikable.
