So, WTOP says suspect worked for one of father's companies. Police are not characterizing this crime as random because perp(s?) were employed by SS in some way.

I'm sorry to everyone who was all excited they were "right" about it being random but this seemed obvious from the get-go. They had to have knowledge of what assets the family had, what they thought they could reasonably get out of the family, etc. etc. There's no way someone's going to randomly pick a family to hold hostage on the vague hope and prayer that they can come up with an obscene amount of cash in a short amount of time.

Well, Jeff deleted a ton of posts that said "of course the killer is black, this is why I'm afraid of black men, they're so much more likely to be murderers, etc." Plenty of people are using this crime as a validation of their own prejudices.

They have scanned brains of serial killers and murderers and they are different. There are also biochemical differences as well.

All of these points put together could have been a deciding factor in the way he lived his life as an adult, you'd better believe it.

No, religion has no factor in whether someone becomes a killer or not -- even serial killers are religious. Remember killers like the man who did this heinous crime are pyschopaths, they do not have empathy for others, and therefore see no conflict between their crimes and their religion.

Also, don't believe for a second that just because someone claims to be religious that they actually are religious. Ted Bundy used to join churches just to find victims.
