Valor

TWell, well, well. Looks like DCSoccer is here to stay in the ECNL regional league now that all these other clubs have jumped ship. The quality of play in the ECNL regional and national leagues in VA has taken quite a nosedive, wouldn't you say?

To the PPs asking about the Coach of the Year - went to Sean Burke.

Btw- last spring he was named Coach of the Year by WaPo, for the third time so seems to be widely celebrated for his commitment to his players as well as his success.

Wait, you started all of this? 🫣

Sean is one of the bright spots for Valor. Excellent coach who develops players.

Also, not a Valor Marketing guy but a parent who has experienced Sean.

Thanks for backing me up.

I’m the poster who posted about the Gala - not the marketing guy. I’m actually the mom who started this entire thread. Crazy, huh? Yep. Still questioning our involvement w Valor, but have stuck it out and we are fine w that decision (thank goodness we did get a new coach this year at least). It’s certainly been interesting though to read along w this thread’s developments!

Thanks crazy Dads for keeping it interesting!

We are running, not walking away from Valor. I have been burned before and WILL NOT be burned again.

RUN NOT TO WALK or better yet, not come here AT ALL!!!!! They will sell you a dream, a crack heard dream.SMH

How is it possible we do not have the SPRING schedule yet??? We should be playing games and not sitting Idol. What we have been playing is sub-par and crap. Note to coach: Find a real challenge for the team and do not sugarcoat the sub-par training or lack of training you claim will make them better.

I AM DONE!!!!

I cannot get my child out of Valor fast enough!!!

High school age or younger? Just wondering if this is a problem in all age groups.

There was no indoor training. It was just a bunch of scrimmages with the coaches chatting about their weekend on the sidelines . It sure is an easy gig to be a Valor coach.

Do any other clubs have their spring practice schedules? Trying to figure out of this is a county field scheduling issue or Valor specifically.

I don't know about other age groups but it looks like the U11 boys from DCSC had a good record in the fall. They are ahead of teams like Arlington, McLean, Loudoun, and others. So maybe younger age groups will be good?

Fairfax sent the permits out early last week.

Strange, he disappeared.

I’m not the marketing guy — and I have a job that precludes me from posting as often as you!!

How about this — I’ll tell you who I am and point out all my posts if you do the same first?
